I just went to Coinstar and redeemed 55 dollars of coins for a Amazon gift certificate. My question is what movies should I get with it. I already know that I'm gonna get The Short Films of David Lynch which is 25 on Amazon...but that leaves me with 30 left over and I'm at a loss as what to do with it.

I've narrowed it down to some options:
-Ikiru Criterion--35, have seen Ran, Seven Samurai, Hidden Fortress, Yojimbo, and Sanjuro and enjoyed all of them.
-Slacker Criterion- 25, just watched Waking Life and loved it, also loved Tape and Dazed and Confused...those are the only Linklater movies I've seen
-More David Lynch, have seen Blue Velvet (8/10) and Mulholland Dr (10/10) and contemplating making the order an all Lynch order
-Another Criterion all together
-Multiple cheaper DVDs

I guess the question is, quality or quantity? Your input on the options listed above would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

quality over quantity, always

If you enjoy Kurosawa at all, Ikiru is very nice and an essential. I'd also recommend The Bad Sleep Well too

Get the Pan's Labyrinth 2 Discer, if you aint got it.

I'd order the Pirates on Blu ray if I had the cash.

Lately I have been torn on the issue of 1 disk vs disks. I always bought 2 diskers but I never ever ever watch the second disk all I really care about is the movie it was just the idea of having the 2 disks. So on Pan's Labyrinth I bought the 1 disker.

I mean you save $8-10 and you can almost get a 2nd movie for that when all I am really interested is in the movie.

So get Pan's but then find some cool cheaper movie like the Wizard to go with it (one of my latest amazon purchases).

Thanks for the help everyone, I ended up getting the Short Films of David Lynch and Visions of Light because I've had this urge to get back to making some little movies and I figure this would be a good educational piece for me. Came very close to getting Ikiru though...next time I guess.

I recommend Dreams from Kurosawa. One of his later films, '93 I believe. No Criterion but on DVD.
