A bit alright this. In particular the penultimate track Be Safe which features a spoken word contribution courtesy of Sonic Youth's Lee Ranaldo. It's not often I come across an album that grips me with a single listen but this did the trick. I'll post a couple of songs later on.

This album reminds me alot of The Fever's stuff mixed with old weezer which isn't a bad thing at all. It's a catchy jump aroundish type deal which is a nice listen. It's not fantastic but it's quite good.

On top of your game as always Bowieee. Just done listening to this again and already it's got serious grower potential. I'll have to go back and give their first two albums another shot.

I listened to it again today in tribute to this thread and I have to say it is quite a grower. I think it may make it's way into my car for some hefty airtime.

Fucking great band. The first two albums churned out catchy pop tunes one after the other, and their third effort is no exception. On first listen I was a bit sketchy, but it's definately a grower. You're right to say that 'Be Safe' is the stand-out track, the reason being that it's different to their other stuff, a brave move and shows confidence. Note and the end of the track how Ryan grumbles "It weren't mar best wun, but who cares" and Lee Ranaldo laughs "That's the spirit". Genius.
Not one bad track in my opinion. It doesn't quite match their second "The New Fellas", but it pisses all over their first (and still solid) album. Stand-out tracks: Be Safe, I'm A Realist, Our Bovine Public, Ancient History, Women's Needs. Sod it, they're all class. Get it, get it!

Thanks ThirdOuting. That was a far more spirited celebration of this great album than what I accomplished with my opening statement. Cheers.
