Well, my DVD player in the living room is fucked after six years, so I can only play on the DVD player on my computer until December. I have a Windows XP with Dell Media Experience, and I'd like to permanently crack it to be region-free rather than just to be able to change it back and forth five times.

I cracked my DVD player simply googling the model of my DVD player and adding "region crack"....luckily that worked with my DVD player. It took me to a forum that had a region crack for said DVD player.

I tried that, though, can't find any results.

Yeah...I had no luck with my newer and better DVD player either. So I keep around my hold DVD player to play other regions.

There's a program that you can get that will make your DVD drive region free, I can't recall the name, just search for it, shouldn't be too hard to find. As I recall, though, it's not a free program.

VLC player is free to download and will play any region DVD on your DVDrom drive, I was happy when I found out I could get DVDs from anywhere in the world!
