not sure if this has been 100% validated on here yet.. i know Real DVD Artist has the date in his thread, but it didnt appear like there was solid word... but this is all but confirmed
I saw this at Amazon.com
http://www.amazon.com/Grindhouse-Presents-Death-Proof-Russell/dp/B000R7HY0U/ref=sr_1_5/104-0959106-9052737?ie=UTF8&s=dvd&qid=1181163777&sr=1-5
i dont know if i will buy them separately, or just wait for the special edition that will surely follow.
Of course waiting on special editions from Rodriguez (Spy Kids) and Tarantino (Kill Bill) could be a hell of a long wait!

This is such a dumb idea I don't know where to begin. It's cause they're splitting these two movies up that I won't be buying them. Too bad.

Seriously....If this double feature is split up on DvD, it'll defeat the point of the whole experience - THOSE MOVIES WERE MEANT TO BE SHOWN TOGETHER!! That was the point of the fake trailers, and the whole 'old movie reel' feel of them.
Bottom line - I saw them together in theatres, and I will NOT buy, or rent them seperately either. Fuck the Weinsteins....greedy cocksuckers.

they already fucked themselves by splitting the film for it's UK cinema release which i now won't be seeing, i'll be waiting for the films to be released together, until then i won't be buying them

More like desperate "cocksuckers". The Weinstein's haven't been having much success with their new company I hear. And success does = profit therefore...
P.S.
The only thing I'll buy is what I saw in theaters and I'm willing to wait for that!

Doesn't look like there is going to even be a cinema release in Australia. This went from a massive free-standing advertising cut out in prime position at the local multi-plex, to a less prominent, to right by the toilets in a matter of weeks and then disappeared altogether once it was announced that the movie was to be split internationally. Now neither part is even listed on any "to be screened" list for any of the cinema chains.
There is absolutely NO way I will pay $60.00 ($29.95 * 2) for these "intentionally cheesy B grade" movies. If they are not getting a combined "double feature" R1 release then my $$ is staying in my pocket. If money is such a red hot issue, I think they are better that they do a red hot best you can do version with as many extras they can cram in at a premium price, because I think if they try and do it half arsed it will just crash and burn. As has already been said, the whole premise was a "double bill B grate extravaganve" not 2 separate movies...
Oh well, what the hell do the money paying public know...
Cheers

Oh cocksuckers... I mean, alright, so the foreign audiences "don't get" the whole Grindhouse experience so they split the movies in the worldwide release. But HELL, on DVD?! Is it that important for them to make money that they have to sell the two movies seperately just for that extra buck? What happened to artistic integrity? I thought the Weinsteins loved and suppored all the Rodriguez/Tarantino/Kevin Smith stuff they always endorsed.

ok so i know the whole split up thing pisses everyone off..especially me anyways, but i thought Death Proof was a great B-movie in its own right....im hopeing its true and they're "at the least" giving us an extended, two-disc release like it says

We should be celebrating this day of DVD releases, instead we will be mourning it.
And no Blu Ray news on Kill Bill or Death Proof.
I did see a ad for Sin City on Blu Ray but thats it.

eh, it sucks, but i don't really mind cause I wouldn't watch and/or buy Planet Terror. Death Proof was a far superior film/pseudo homage.
