Hey there,

I'm gonna start up a tournament to see which episode of LOST is the greatest... I shall include all episodes aired from Seaon One - 'Pilot - Part 1', to Season Three's finale - 'Through the Looking Glass - Part 2'.

I drew matches from a hat at random, so it is fair, and to equal it out, I split the Season One finale into 3 episodes - 'Exoudus, Part 1', 'Exodus, Part 2', and 'Exodus, Part 3' - as it was done in England.

ROUND 1

1) Pilot - Part 1 Vs. Fire + Water
2) Not In Portland Vs. Born to Run
3) Flashes Before Your Eyes Vs. Every Man For Himself
4) The Glass Ballerina Vs. Orientation
5) Deus Ex Machina Vs. The Hunting Party
6) ...and Found Vs. The Man From Tallahassee
7) The Greater Good Vs. Solitary
8) Tabula Rasa Vs. Left Behind
9) Special Vs. Expose
10) House of the Rising Sun Vs. All the Best Cowboys Have Daddy Issues
11) Adrift Vs. Man of Science, Man of Faith
12) Confidence Man Vs. Outlaws
13) Live Together, Die Alone - Part 1 Vs. A Tale of Two Cities
14) Numbers Vs. ...in Translation
15) The Moth Vs. Exodus, Part 1
16) Greatest Hits Vs. Maternity Leave
17) The 23rd Psalm Vs. The Long Con
18) Exodus, Part 2 Vs. Hearts and Minds
19) Catch-22 Vs. Two for the Road
20) One of Them Vs. Everybody Hates Hugo
21) Par Avion Vs. Collision
22) Through the Looking Glass - Part 1 Vs. What Kate Did
23) S.O.S Vs. The Other 48 Days
24) Further Instructions Vs. Three Minutes
25) D.O.C Vs. Dave
26) ? Vs. Abandoned
27) Lockdown Vs. White Rabbit
28) Pilot - Part 2 Vs. The Whole Truth
29) Homecoming Vs. Stranger in a Strange Land
30) Do No Harm Vs. The Man Behind the Curtain
31) I Do Vs. Live Together, Die Alone - Part 2
32) Enter-77 Vs. Tricia Tanaka Is Dead
33) Walkabout Vs. The Cost of Living
34) Raised by Another Vs. Exodus, Part 3
35) Whatever the Case May Be Vs. One of Us
36) The Brig Vs. Through the Looking Glass - Part 2

Would anybody take part in this tournament? Also, onn the deaths section of the episode description, I am not meaning deaths in flashbacks, but on island deaths - unless the person is a main, pivotal character. Also, if they die on island - but do not have a name, they will not be put down.

Jacob

I would, but you'd have to give some kind of plot description because I'm not familiar with all the titles of the episodes and may need to jog my memory especially for the first two seasons. Season 3 is still fairly fresh in my mind. Season 1 and 2 not as much.

Pilot Part 1 and 2 > Fire and Water

Things really went down with Charlie as a character, he became a loveable addict to a crazy addict.

Pilot had better performances and everyone seemed very fresh.

Yeah, I had to go to IMDB and look up the last two episodes in the last match before I voted because I do sometimes forget the flashbacks.

And I agree I vote for Left Behind too. Even though Tabula Rasa was the better flashback. It was before Kate's flashbacks had become redundant and tiresome since it was the first one.

I'm not gonna disagree - MAN OF SCIENCE, MAN OF FAITH

I am surprised by Tabula Rasa winning over Left Behind...personally I thought that was an easy vote for Left Behind especially since I feel Tabula Rasa is one of the weakest episodes of the first season...

Although, an interesting fact that I recently read about Jack's tatoo is that it is in fact the actor's real tatoo and the writers just decided to incorporate it into the show.

Oh shit! This is without a doubt, the single toughest round. Both episodes are AMAZING.

Do I go for the one that's really shocking and has great moments with two of it's compelling characters or do I go for the emotionally amazing one especially with that powerful ending of Boone's death while Claire gives birth at the same time. It was just an amazing ending. And it's that ending why I'm choosing Do No Harm (although Ben shooting Locke is one of the most shocking moments in Lost history).
