So, theres a new jshindig going down for all you turkey burgers and jive salads. It call Nentendocore. I've been trying to find more of these kinds of bands. So far all i've really found is Horse The Band and Sky Eats Airplane. Both amazing bands. and what makes the Nententocore is the keyboards and computer synthasizer. most often times they even take bits from video game music and sing about characters.

So I was wondering if anyone else knew of any good hardcore bands that have synth or keys. If so, please share. my music is boring the hell out of me. i need new music.

DEFINITELY recommend The Minibosses. They make awesome renditions of all old 8 bit NES themes. Their themes for Mega Man 2, Metroid, and Castlevania 3 are epic. Strongly suggest those

There is another band called The Megas who only play songs from the Mega Man series. I have only heard one song but it was pretty damn good.

Another band I have seen mentioned is the NESkimos. Don't know anything about them though.

Well thats all for now GOoD JOURNEY my fellow schmoes.

Yeah? Do they add lyrics to their songs like The Megas do? Also, what themes have they covered. I'm going to try and look them up and see what I can come up with. Well thats all for now GOoD JOURNEY my fellow schmoes.

I just listened to a couple of their tracks (Duel and Revenge from Ninja Gaiden and the Dungeon Theme from LEGEND OF ZELDA) and they are definitely worth listening to. They play a little darker and more somber than The Minibosses do but I like both of their styles. Well thats all for now GOoD JOURNEY my fellow schmoes.

They are fairly big. Don't quote me on this but I believe of all the bands in the video game scene (pretty weird that this is an actual subgenre, I know) I believe they are the most widely recognized. And for good reason too. Well thats all for now GOoD JOURNEY my fellow schmoes.

That is quite a thought. Videogame music could very well end emo?

I think the most famous 8 bit live band out there nowdays would have to be the advantage.

Genghis Tron (Nothing to do with video games but great electrogrind group.)
At All Cost (Mixes hardcore and electro. Like a cross between old Cave-In and Daft Punk)
Megadriver (Do a lot of Sega covers like Street Fighter and Sonic)
Machinae Supremacy (Power Metal with a Commodore 64 SID synth. It produces a video game feeling)

I personally thought every song on their last album It's Time To Decide had a little bit of electro. Not as much as say Horse The Band.

Death To Destraction (Pure Daft Punk inspired dance breakdown in the middle.)

One more Nintendocorish band is The Advantage. They cover Nes songs like Mario, Zelda, Megaman, and so forth.

o, makes sense i kinda check them out with a different expectation for the sound. somethin a little less agressive
