M.I.A. - Kala - August 22nd

Oh boy, it's almost time for M.I.A.'s follow up to her great 2005 album, Arular. It's called Kala (pronounced cah-lah I believe). The first single off the album is called "Boyz" and for me it's a winner. It streets the 21st in the UK and the 22nd in the U.S.

Bumping this thread since this is definitely one of my favourite albums that I've heard this year. The only bad tracks are The Turn and Come Around, but that's a bonus track so it doesn't exactly count. A giant step up from Arular which I thought was just kind of enjoyable for the most part.

I think I'm gonna wait for Tuesday to buy it. I downloaded a sampler of the album with only 30 second clips of each song and was severely let down. Hopefully the whole thing is better.

I could only see myself listening to this music if I was at a rave in Brazil, other than that not really my thing but I respect MIA and can see how people would like this music.

Oh and back to M.I.A. if you like her music fair enough, makes you a party guy and to party is to have fun, I on the other hand aint one to party, I just sit at home eating chicken wings and watching cop shows, I listen to her new album and its very abrassive sounding and sounds like a 19 year old not a 30 year old.
