The new Aesop Rock is landing in August and I'm calling it here ladies and gentlemen this album is going to be huuuge. it's going to take him to the front lines of underground hip hop. I just wanted to post this so 5 months from now I can bump it as an I told you so.
Just the fact that it features John Darnielle will win over a bunch of casual listeners from the indie crowd. The man is the best mc ever from my view point and I can't wait to hear the whole shebang.

I went over to a friend's house a couple of weeks ago and he was playing some Aesop Rock and for me not being huge on hip hop, I dug the shit out of it. I might have to keep my eye open for this.

pretty much all of his stuff is worth picking up. Bazooka Tooth had some hit and miss tracks on it but everything else is solid gold.

I really really really can't stand his delivery/voice.

Hopefully you're right. I have Labor Days, which I fucking love, so I'll probably end up getting whatever else the guy puts out.

You can't not love an album with a hip hop song about pirates at sea.

I'm really not a fan of Aes, but I still downloaded it for a listen. Despite me not being a fan i can still safely say this is by far his best work, everything here seems on point; lyrics, beats and his flow sounds like it really improved

I'm not even a moderate fan of hip hop and I love this fucking record. So damn good.
