Why of why is this movie getting such good reviews. I liked the fact that it was subtle and it gives a non-supermatural explanantion (essentially Joshua is just really evil and really smart), but it was so silly and so campy. The mother is incredibly annoying I kept hoping Joshua would off her early in the film. Also, for such a smart kid Joshua does some dumb things like killing a person in broad daylight within sight of a bunch of people. There were so many scenes that I think were supposed to be really intense and creepy but I just thought was funny particuraly the scene where the mother cuts her feet and then rubs it all along her legs.

I saw the trailer, and honestly, i cant take it seriously. That kid was on one of my favorite shows this past year, Wonder Showzen, so it really negates all creepiness from him.

It looked pretty awful to me. I'm sick of scary kids, and this kid didn't even look scary. The trailer just irritated me. Definitely not gonna be seeing it.
BTW, what good reviews is this getting? It's got 55% on RT.

I forgot it was that low. I am mainly thinking back to Sundance where it was a huge hit.

Well I think this looks great. The trailer was very creepy. That kid really looked creepy. Probably won't get to see this until dvd though. Unless it's going to open wider. Does anyone know if it does?

The trailer was better !!
Its hard enough today dealing with the everyday stresses of life,job,wife,kids,in-laws and your own parents who still consider you to be there little boy.Now factor in that one of your children is a sociopath. This is the story and life of Brad Cairn (Sam Rockwell ) in Joshua. His wife Abby(Vera Farmiga) already edgy and slowly losing it as their new baby daughter seems to cry endlessly for no apparent reason(hmmm???).Now they have to deal with Joshua (a brillaint dark performance by Jacob Kogan) and his interests in ancient death rituals, and death itself.I dont want to give to much away but this was a just a so so modern day Bad Seed. The ending and goals of Joshua were just too predictable for me Scale of 1-10 a 6 1/2
