Maybe too many people told him how much they liked his voice work in the Incredibles, and he just took up an offer that someone made at the right time to get him to voice Underdog and star next to the Chipmunks...

I refuse to believe he made a fully concious, well-considered decision to star in these roles. The direction they are taking him is the ultimate in well paid, submerged-in-Hollywood stardom, and before this he was a god among Kevin Smith fans. I don't want to think he just suddenly "grew up"
