Who in the fuck thought it was cool to see movies on a small ass screen like that it's as bad as watching a flick on a Psp or Zune
I mean fuck people use regular dvd players not your stupid little mp3's

Had to get this off my back.

Before my computer crashed and it got lost I had Good Will Hunting on my iPod (I had a gift certificate, otherwise I wouldn't have gotten it). Actually, the picture is really good. I mean, shockingly good quality for such a small screen.

While it wouldn't be my first choice between theater, home, or the iPod, the iPod is the most convenient sometimes. Watch movies at home, at work, wherever you want.

Yeah, but its a lifesaver when you're on a long bus or plane trip and movie on hand is either Beethoven's 2nd or Glitter

I don't have an iPod, but I do have a Creative Labs Zen Vision: M.
I love it. Like electriclite posted, it's great for plane trips or any other time you have to sit and wait for a long time.
Plus, I like how I can listen to some tunes, and then switch over to an episode Family Guy. Another feature I like is being able to Tivo something, and then wirelessly tranfer it to my PC to my Zen.
Actually, that's a Tivo feature, but you get the idea.

don't like small screens?? heh then you'll love this. In Canada, Bell Mobility offers that you can download movies like Spidey 2 or Pirates 2 and watch them on your cell phone. Not only is hte screen incredibly small on most cell phones but its the wrong aspect ratio, as in the screen is taller then it is wide. I'd like to kick the guy in the nuts that thought this was a good idea.

Yeah, I could never watch a film on such a small screen.

my brother in law has like 25 movies on his ipod and what he does with it is pretty cool. I have seen him plug his ipod into a tv and run the video in to the tv, I have also seen him to do it with a projector. Plus they have those screens on the back of the seat rests of their car for their 2 kids for long trips and he runs that off his ipod as well.

its all about how you use it, he can purchase movies off itunes and watch them on his tv, his projector at work, his computer, in his car for his kids, on a portable dvd player (I have seen him do this too) or even god forbid on the ipod itself. That one movie file becomes the most portable movie in the world and vastly superior to your dvd version.

I want an ipod after seeing him do this.

I have a Zune and I put ALOT of videos on it.

Yeah, I watch movies on my TV at home. But my laptop has a HORRIBLE battery life. So on long car rides/plane rides/train rides, my zune is all that keeps me sane.

(Unless I have a gooooooooood book.)

I don't get this rant. It isn't like you're supposed to invite people over to eat popcorn and sit on the couch watching an iPod. As far as portable video goes, I don't see the problem. If you want to haul around a DC/AC converter a 13" flat screen and a DVD player, more power to you.
