Hard to say whether that's a bad role for Cuba at this point.

When I first started viewing the pics, I thought the Blonde and Blonder thing was fake...since it looked kind of poorly photoshopped....so I thought this was a joke thread, about terrible movie ideas.

Didn't know about the "Daddy Day Camp" one.
I remember horrible ass movies like these used to be direct to video movies or you'd only catch them on cable (no one would dare run them in the theaters) but it seems like for some reason, Hollywood just doesn't give a shit about the quality of these movies anymore.
Churn 'em out, throw 'em in the theater, and get them on DVD to make up for whatever money they didn't make in the box office.
We won't see another "Terms of Endearment", "The Godfather", or even "Lawrence of Arabia".
We'll get "Because I Said So", "Mobsters", and "Sahara".
Makes me sad to think about it.

Those HAVE to be direct to video. What poor schmuck would go to the theatre to see those?

It's like that song by The Doors "People are Strange." In this case, "People are Stupid."

Yes, and about 10% of them do well at the box office.

Like "The Fountain"? I watched that movie and was thankful that somebody was capable of making a movie like that. I just hoped the way it bombed doesn't discourage others from trying to make more ambitious movies that will probably polarize audiences.

What the fuck is Jason Lee doing? These are the types of movies that should be straight to DVD but instead we have some good movies being shelves instead (Lonely Hearts comes to mind)

When I saw the Bratz poster at my theater I couldnt believe my eyes, I was that dumbstruck I thought it had to be a joke. Then I saw the trailer before Ratatouille and it made me want to honestly walk out of the theater and never come back.
But the good news is the only comments I heard people say were negative. So hopefully it will tank.

I just had to check IMDB to be sure. I even questioned if I got his name mixed up. I didn't. KEVIN ARNOLD directed this movie. My gosh. He's even directed a handful of episodes of random teeny-bopper shows. Anyway, the funny this is that I enjoyed "Daddy Day Care." It was genuinely funny in a good childish way (so, sue me). However, this spin-off looks beyond lame and many, many notches below it.

I really don't give a fuck about any of those movies. They're not my type of movies so I don't care.

I still have to contribute my own two cents to this thread. Me, I am an easy-going guy. Or, used to be. The mediocre movies a lot of you rate poorly I enjoy on a slightly above average level. So, when I witness a truly bad movie, it's earth shattering.
The movie that made me, in a sense, lose faith in humanity was..."The Devil's Rejects." Yes, Rob Zombie's "The Devil's Rejects." A lot of the "bad" movies have had some redeeming values in my eyes. "Rejects," however, doesn't. Everything about it was crap. It was unwatchable. It was a "shock-value-for-the-sake-of-shock-value" type of movie and nothing about was remotely "scary," "shocking," or even "enjoyable" by any sense of the word. The word I'm looking for is horrific in the worst sense of the definition. Notably, many of you apparently click with the sense of humor supposedly found in this movie, but it is not my cup of tea. And the "freebird" montage at the end means nothing to me.
Before I am accused of being a prude, consider that I been able to take extreme horror from "Cannibal Holocaust" to "Salo: 120 Days of Sodom" to lots and lots of slasher and giallo movies. "Holocaust" is rewatchable from time to time, I was able to view the entirety of "Salo" without too much disgust, and in the right mood, I love a good a slahser movie. It must also be said that I mildly enjoyed Rob Zombie's nightmarish romp that was "House of a 1000 Corpses."
Anyway, I am aware that I am in the minority of this subject of "The Devil's Rejects." I avoid most topics about the movie, because of that. However, I can't help but place this movie in the thread it belongs in. It's only my opinion, very few others seem to feel the same way, and I am not trying to change any of yours.
I will add that, after witnessing this movie suck the life out of me, I did not see another movie in the theater for a month. Within the last few years, the magical feeling about the movies has evaporated from my mind. I wonder if it's just the overall movie experience or this movie that has caused this change. I am also not as easy-going with movies as I used to be and see new movies on less basis (I saw 110 total movies in 2002 and 2003, 80 in 2004, fewer and fewer annually since, etc.). I wonder if this movie is the cause of that too.
And before any of you joke, I am aware that Rob Zombie has remade "Halloween."

To answer your question Quigles, I hate it when movies that don't feature actual actors are greenlit; movies like Dukes of Hazard or Crossroads, you know movies that just feaure other entertainers trying to 'break into' acting.
Movies that make me have faith in humanity:
Magnolia, Spiderman, The Simpsons Movie (haven't seen it yet but ya know)
