so scream I love this series and I thought part 3 was ok but not as good as the first 2. I think it all depends on the script it has to be good not something thrown together (see jay and silent bob strike back)

http://youtube.com/watch?v=uE5IczsYdr0

so would you like to see a scream 4

Actually, I recieved a call about that for the first time the other day…” Craven told a crowd at the New York Comic-Con. “Obviously, I’ve been asked about that for a long, long time… I think that it’s not completely off the table at this point, as far as the studio making it. I was asked if I’d be interested, but I said it would depend on the script. [Scream 4] isn’t something that’s around the corner or anything, they are now thinking about it

This was in February

I love the Scream movies. But I'd only be okay with another Scream movie if Wes Craven, Kevin Williamson, Neve Campbell, Courtney Cox and David Arquette were all coming back.

Wes Craven was talking about beginning production and having just talked to Neve Campbell who was supposedly on board when I saw him at a convention two years ago. I wouldn't expect anything to happen but I wouldn't be opposed to it since I enjoyed the trilogy. Well thats all for now GOoD JOURNEY my fellow schmoes.

The first Scream is a work of brilliance, but the other two are godawful. It seems Wes Craven is capable of making good films, he just has what is probably the worst good/bad ratio in the entire film industry.

I say nay. This would totally suck. The other two shouldn't have even been made.

no three`s enough and it ended on the right note.

but this is hollywood and they`ll make it anyway with a hip cast of teens or they`ll just remake the 1st lol.

plus craven doesn`t have any pull at dimension studios.they screwed him big time over cursed.

I thoroughly enjoyed them, minus the atrocious ending of the 2nd film. Still fun scare flicks, though.

I'd love a fourth Scream, but only if it's in the right hands.

I see how everybody feels some yes some no how would you feel about a prequel I would love to see a prequel to see when stu and billy killed maureen and how rome led them to it.

teenkiller
07-13-2007, 02:08 AM
Nah, a prequel would be a bad idea. Even another sequel would be hard to make. I mean it would pretty much discredit the entire speech Randy gave in the third one about it being a trilogy. Even though a fourth movie just wouldn't fit I still think it would be pretty cool to have one made on the tenth anniversary of Scream 3. Well thats all for now GOoD JOURNEY my fellow schmoes.

while i enjoyed 1 and 3 (2 was a bag'o'shite) i have very littlte/no interest in a fourth film....maybe if they got somebody else to direct it other than Craven (since he really isn't a good director) i might be tempted but it would have to look absolutely amazing

I wont lie and say i wouldnt watch it.

Go ahead, if it sucks then itll just be forgotten. I would love a Scream film to rival the first.

Didn't they announced back when Scream 3 was released that it was going to be the last film of the Scream series and ending as a trilogy?

I would love to see a Scream 4, but I'd hope that Neve's character would be the first to die at the beginning. That would just amaze me.

The Scream series is to the 90's like Ghostbusters is to the 80's. Let it be.

The first is a horror classic. I'm not joking, its a fantastic picture. The second was actually a pleasant surprise, I rather liked it, a solid continuation. The third was profoundly stupid.

I will never understand why some people prefer the third over the second. They are worlds apart in my opinion. Other than the silly Scooby Doo ending, I thought Scream 2 was pretty solid.

Craven is a damn good director with the right material. But obviously Scream 3 was designed to bring about a sense of closure. But we are well past the slew of self-referential horror films of the 90s that Scream popularized. I liked the series but if they made another, it would have to be in a totally new direction. I doubt it would work, so they shouldn't touch it.

No.

The first Scream was a great movie for many reasons, but the last two paled severely in comparison. The second wasn't that bad, but the third was horrible. Let the series be.

Scream 4: Yes

Not if it's going to resurrect that awful parody-slasher phase of the late 90's.

It took five years trying to recover.

But hey, at least there's that... We've had better luck overseas. The US is still pretty much in shambles. Hey, just like the falling dollar. Hopefully both improve soon.

All that aside, I'd rather see "serious-toned" crap over "parody-wink-wink" crap. There's a better shot something I like might pop out of it.

I seriously love the first two, and think the third is just okay. But I love these characters so much, particularly Dewey, that I'd love to see them on the big screen again.

I still get a little sad every time I think of Randy's untimely demise.

Tbe fair, that wasnt SCREAMs fault. Hollyowood always makes a ton of shit movies to try and capture what works in a hit horror film.

Look at the blurb of zombie movies we had going there.(..shockingly most turned out rather awesome!)

..and alll the shit ghost movies we had that followed THE RING after it became such a hit. Id say more shit followed that then the Scream movie.

There have been a bunch of great horror films to come out within the last five years. The 90's as a whole were pretty dry so I'm actually pretty glad with the state we'er in now. I was beginning to sound like an old coot six years ago. Well thats all for now GOoD JOURNEY my fellow schmoes.

Only two films I can think of that followed SAW that I considered shit were Turistas and Captivity, other than that Horror hasn't been this great since the early 80's.

I can definitely agree with you on C(r)aptivity but since I haven't seen Turistas (I'm sure it sucks though) I'm going to have to replace it with The Hills Have Eyes 2. Such disappointments... Well thats all for now GOoD JOURNEY my fellow schmoes.

Yeah, i mean, Hollywood does it with every hit horror movie. Screams tarted the slasher trend back up and that resulted in alot of shit. The Ring started the ghost movie thing back up and resulted in alot of shit. Saw started torture movie in full effect, that thats produced alot of shit.

I think the onyl craze that i really loved was the zombie one. We got Land of the Dead, Shawn of the Dead, Dawn of the Dead 04, and 28 Days Later all lumped together in a short time frame, and they all rocked my socks off.

Being that survival( often times zombie) movies are my favorite type of movie, i was in heaven.

The fact that its being done by Eli Roth makes me worry. The book is fantastic.

Well Eli Roth is one of my idols, so I'm not worried at all, but if it puts you at ease for whatever reason it is it makes you worry, the writers of 1408 are the ones who wrote the script.

The "Scream" series are great. They somehow manage to make flaws brilliant (though they're still flaws) and it's one of the best things the genre has offered.

And as much as I'd love to see my favorite characters back (LOVE YOU SID!), making a fourth one is a bad idea. It goes compeltely against the series concept of satirizing the genre since there are no 'rules' about part 4s.

Hope it doesn't happen. But if it did, I'd be there.

Not sure if King himself is collaborating but I do know that two of the writers of 1408 are wrote the screenplay for Cell.

I think they should definitely make a Scream 4. So what if it comes out shitty. Just because they make a Scream 4, doesn't mean you have to watch it everytime you watch the first 3. Just forget all about it. Besides, Scream 4 couldn't possibly be worse then Scream 2 and Scream 3...
