Let me preface this by saying that I have not heard anything whatsoever on whether or not this would actually happen, I was just wondering what you Schmoes would think. Personally, I would kind of enjoy seeing some more Star Wars films, however, it was tied up nicely in Episode III and think it would be rather pointless to add any more to the story.
What do you guys think?

I still haven't seen Episodes 2 or 3 so it doesn't really move me either way. My friend used to go on about how there is more to the story with Episodes 7, 8, and 9. I think that turned out be false but not really being a mega fan of the series I never looked into it. Besides it took George 16 years to go from one trilogy to the next. Would he wait another 16 years before starting the third trilogy? He'd be like... probably dead. Well thats all for now GOoD JOURNEY my fellow schmoes.

Well, if I know the history correctly (which I might not, because I'm not a huge fan boy) Lucas always planned on doing Eps. I - III as soon as he could...it was only because the technology wouldn't allow it. So if he was actually planning on doing episodes 7 through 9, the technological aspect should not be a problem.

I fuckin' love Star Wars and I would love to see Luke, Solo, chewbacca and Leia all return for episodes 7-9,but I think they really should just leave it alone.
For now.

No. I really wish Lucas would move on with his life and make some films other than fucking Staw Wars. Let it go George, I'm sure you have screwed enough people out their money to see the prequels.

Really? I heard he adopted three children and stopped making movies to focus on raising them. Once they were grown he decided to dedicate his time to making movies again. It could be false but that's always what I have believed. Well thats all for now GOoD JOURNEY my fellow schmoes.
No. This series ends with Darth Vader.
That and I dread another "Jar Jar".

Fuck no, at least until George Lucas gets back on the top of his game (if ever).

I have to agree with you, although if they were made, I'd definitely see them.

If they do another one do one outside the current universe. Make a prequel based on the Sith War or Knights of the Old Republic. I dont want Luke at the age of 50 with the Emperors clone... SO the answer to the question Fuck Yeah...

That would actually be really fucking cool. Did you ever play Shadows of the Empire on the Nintendo 64? The story-line on that was really cool and intertwined with the original trilogy, but focused more on other characters. I would love to see something like that.

Shadows of the Empire was one of the defining games of the N64 and one of my favorites overall. Haven't played it in years but thanks for bringing up cool memories. So much frustration trying to beat the junkyard level on Jedi difficulty... Well thats all for now GOoD JOURNEY my fellow schmoes.

Oh, holy shit! Trying to beat IG-88 on Jedi mode was an exercise in futility! What a great game, though. I want to go buy a used 64 so I can play Goldeneye and Shadows of the Empire again!

I went with the third option just because I thought "Fuck no!" was a bit too harsh.
And I came up with this argument in the Star Wars forum:

If there's one thing that Star Wars Episodes I through III proves, it's that the Star Wars saga (all six movies) is more about Anakin Skywalker than it is about Luke, which a lot of people believed with just the original trilogy. If anything, it's about the Skywalker family, but for the most part I believe it to be about Anakin. Further evidence comes from the opening sequence of A New Hope; we see Darth Vader, once Anakin, first and foremost - long before we see Luke. Who kills the emperor and "brings balance to the force?" Anakin/Luke Skywalker. We follow Anakin through the six movies from when he was but a tot to his death in Return of the Jedi.
Wow, that's actually a really insightful point. I never thought of it like that, but you're exactly right. I always thought that, since Anakin turned to the Dark Side, it was Luke who was the one being talked about in the prophecy, but I think you're right in saying that, although he fucked up at first, Vader ended up fulfilling the prophecy by destroying the Emperor and sacrificing himself in the mean time.
Great post, btw.

Tell me about it. And I thought the whole level of Boba Fett's fortress was one tough mother... I finally managed to beat the game on Hard but fucking Jedi was impossible. I eventually gave up hope. Well thats all for now GOoD JOURNEY my fellow schmoes.

I would love to have three more Star Wars flicks. I would just like Lucas to step down from directing for a while and given someone like Spielberg a go at the movies.

I don't think it is a great idea, considering Revenge of the Sith was a great movie and a great way to finish off the saga, but I would probably see it anyway.

If there was a choice for a just plain 'Yes' I would vote that.

No. The story of Star Wars is the story Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader. When his story ended so should the saga.

I would love to see some fucking awesome director from my generation (I'm 18, so obviously they wouldn't have "made it" yet) make something like 20 years from now using the general universe, etc. with a fresh set of characters. Something along the lines of Knights of the Old Republic would be awesome. (KotOR was set a few thousand years in the past)
But yeah, Lucas, nah - leave it alone for a couple decades, and only then with a badass writer/director.

Am I missing something here?
20 + 28 = 48
48 + 28 = 76
76 + 24 = 100
What's the problem?

No, not the percentage points. I was talking about the number of votes per option. They didn't add up to 22...they added up to 25. Look at the parenthesis.
