Gonna go Spielberg here even though they all have been great.

Except for Hitchcock. I think it's exceptiionally close between those three as who is most the influential.

I'll go with Spielberg since he created the summer bockbluster with Jaws.

But I think Hitch would come second and Lucas third.

I voted Deniro because he is the only one on that list that I am remotely interested in. I'm sure he wasn't the most influential but he is to me. Well thats all for now GOoD JOURNEY my fellow schmoes.

Marlon Brando. George Lucas, although all he's done is revolutionize special effects and make filmmakers realize the commercial potential of epic, fantastical summer movies with mindless action and lazy writing (a perfect example of something great going in the wrong direction), is close.

But seriously, man. Where the fuck is Stanley Kubrick on that list?

Hitchcock, followed by Brando. For the fact they actually influenced filmmakers and actors and the way each of those arts are developed and performed. Spielberg and Lucas are influential on the business end, not in a filmmaking sense.

To me, it was a toss-up between Spielberg or Lucas; their work in the 70's and 80's changed the face of filmmaking forever. However, I went with Spielberg only because he has done much, much more (in the terms of actually making films) than Lucas has.

Dammit, ToiletBug, you just HAD to put Paris Hilton. Now I'm forced to vote for her because she's the ironic option. :p

Hitchcock is the greatest filmmaker, but the most influential would have to be either Spielberg or Lucas, but I'd say Spielberg.

Am I SERIOUSLY the first one to vote for Robert Redford? How different would the world of filmmaking and "making it" be without Sundance?

I had to vote Speilberg but I think Hitchcock is a VERY VERY CLOSE 2nd place.
