I just got done watching The Boondock Saints for what has to be the one hundred billionth time, and while I was watching it, I could not help but think how much I would love to see the sequel.
Now, those of you who know what has happened with Duffy, you'll realize that the possibility of a sequel actually happening are slim to nil. However, I just wanted to know what you guys would think about having a sequel made.
EDIT: I just checked the website (http://www.boondocksaints.com) and read:
Thanks in large part to the fans rabid support of the film, the legal issues that have been stalling a sequel have been cleared up and financing is now being arranged to produce the next film.
Not sure how long that has been up, but I hope to God it's true!

I think there should be. Boondock WAS overrated by many people, but Billy Connolly gave it a LOT of life, and if he was brought back, then I would definitely check out a sequel...

I loved his narration throughout the film and he was so damn good in the last few minutes of i.

I still remember spending a year thinking it was going to be released in 2003 and when that never happened, I was pissed.

I didn't like the first one, so I don't think so.

I actually saw the first for the first time last week; I liked it a lot and wouldn't mind seeing another. I think there's a lot future installments in the franchise could explore, especially the public avenger and media angles are concerned.

I'm kind of surprised to hear that you just saw it recently. As someone of your caliber here on the boards, I would've thought you've seen it already. Lol.

What can I say . . . I'm a slacker. :D (I saw True Romance for the first time this past week.) I appreciate the compliment though.

I bought it a few weeks ago (maybe months) and just got around to seeing it. I lent it to a friend, who's another movie buff that hadn't seen it.

I'm glad to see you liked it. It's one of my favorite Tarantino scripts and people seem to not realize it was him who wrote it since he didn't direct it as well. Everyone seems to think that Reservoir Dogs was his first foray into the filmmaking world.

While I disagree with that, I cannot help but laugh at the way you put it. :D

I voted Other. I saw Boondock Saints and thought it was pretty good but the prospect of a sequel doesn't move me either way. I wouldn't be against seeing one though if the main characters returned. Well thats all for now GOoD JOURNEY my fellow schmoes.

If you want my honest opnion, Boondocks 2 is merely a ploy to sell the origanal on DVD, stickers and t shirts. He's been prick teasing all his fans with a sequel for MANY years now and the chubby bastard knows damn well that his cocky attitude burnt so many bridges that distributor will touch him. If it happens I'll thrown down my dollar for a ticket like the rest of America but I'm not gonna hold by breath for it.

I loved the first movie and kind of felt like it ended in a loose end. What a great flick that ended with me just wanting more. So naturally, if a second film is produced I will very much be looking forward to it.
The title I ran into online is Boondock Saints 2 : All Saints Day.
I would love to see a Boondock 2 but I'd also like to see something new, not just the same old justice-is-served flick...

I don't know, myself. Maybe someone else does. All I know is that Duffy is planning on making a sequel. The script has been done for years, but they have been going through so many legal problems that production has been halted because of it.

In a time that littered with sequals, it would be comforting to know that Hollywood had the capability to make a movie (and a very good one at that) and then leave it alone.

I want a sequel, but I see a better chance of Guns N' Roses' "Chinese Democracy" record seeing the light of day first.

The first one sucked and explored all the potential the story had and then a lot more stupid crap. No one in their right mind would work with Duffy the hack asshole again. So...a big NAY.

This is very true . . . he is a pain in the ass, but I do think he came up with a very good movie.
