But this trailer is new right? Or is it just what they showed on ET? And terrible? Elaborate. I couldn't disagree more.

It is the same trailer.
It doesn't look like a bad film, not fundamentally, it looks well made, the direction and acting should be fine, but it doesn't matter if it's left, right, or in between, I really, really don't want to see actors, especially Robert Redford, make films shoveling politispeak in the audience's faces.

I'll see it just for the people involved. Redford, Streep, Carnahan, Cruise...Looks great.
The trailer I thought was kind of lame though, it didn't really show anything at all. It can't be bad with those people and the promising setup, but the trailer just wasn't particularly interesting.

Yeah, that trailer showed nothing and did nothing to make me want to see the movie.
I still can't wait to see it though. As a director, Redford has yet to disappoint. I've loved all of his movies, including The Legend of Bagger Vance.

Couldn't disagree more! I, for one, LOVE politically-orientedfilms, as long as they're well-made like Traffic, not obtuse like Babel or empty like Bobby.

Looks like preachy bullshit from Redford.

Nobody talks like that in reality. It's a mechanism for spouting a political agenda in a really ham fisted way. From the mouths of noble journalists and academics no less. It doesn't get any more condescending.
Which means it is sure to recieve all kinds of acclaim.
Traffic is an example of an issues oriented movie done well. It just tries to portray reality.
An even better example woud be The Wire on HBO.

After seeing that preview I really hope this bombs. Cruise's little speech near the end was probably thought to be riveting but looked pretty lame. Meryl Streep looks good for her age though. Well thats all for now GOoD JOURNEY my fellow schmoes.
