I'm not his biggest admirer, but damn does he rock.
My two favorites, still, are Jerry Goldsmith and Thomas Newman. He's in my top 5 though, with John Debney (and someone else, like Philip Glass, Danny Elfman, or Mark Isham).

He single handedly improves the quality of movies with his scores. I seriously hopes he lives to be 100 and is still working up until then.
He actually doesn't think his work is all that great. In fact there was a lot of his compositions that he used to throw out all the time from what I heard.

John William by fay is my fav. composer. His scores are usually range from 4/5 to 5/5 for me. I hope those people who do those essentia great hit'sl cd for musicans. I hope they do one for John Williams in the near future
