Ok,so I finally caught up with the rest of the universe and bought/watched escape from New York and LA. I know, I know, I should've done this years ago, and being a big Kurt Russell fan and espically a fan of Big Trouble in Little China which I've loved for years, the Escape movies should be right up my ally just like the Thing.
So, I'm curious who liked which one better. NY is clearly the better movie, but I think I had more fun with LA. From Snake's smartass response to "need to know only" (I guess I don't need to know...so fuck you I'm going to hollywood) to the final line which I won't put in case there are those who like me up until today haven't seen the flick, I had a big smile plastered on my face and really dug every aspect of the flick, aside from the lame-o special effects in some scenes, but what could they do it was '95...
All in all I have to say that LA is my favorite, but only because of the brilliant set up NY provided...from the "I thought you'd be" running gag to the way Snake evolved but didn't evolve in between movies to good ole Steve B. playing Eddie to Stacy Keach being badass.
Which one did you guys like and why? And I thought I had heard about a proposed sequal...how would that have worked?
And in case my choice confuses you, my favorite Russell/Carpenter movie is still Big Trouble in Little China, so there you go...I like humor more than darkness...
