I like em in the order they came out

Die Hard 9.5/10
Die Hard 2 8.5/10
Die Hard With A Vengeance 8.5/10
Live Free or Die Hard 8/10 <could go up if an unrated/r-rated dvd comes out.

Die Hard- 9/10
Die Hard 2- 7/10
Die Hard With a Vengeance- 8/10
Live Free or Die Hard- 9/10

I think if an R rated DVD for Live Free or Die Hard is done right, it could easily be the best in the series.

I have yet to see Live Free or Die Hard, but I'd say the first is #1, very very closely followed by With A Vengeance. The second was weak to me, felt like a rehash of the first in a different setting, whereas the 3rd felt new and much more fun and interesting. Still though, gotta see the 4th.

As of now---
Die Hard - 9/10
Die Hard 2: Die Harder - 7/10
Die Hard With A Vengeance - 8.5/10
Live Free Or Die Hard - N/A

Agreed! Die Hard is one of the action movie classics which so many have tried to imitate. Like the sad Die Hard 2.

With the caveat that I haven't seen Live Free or Die Hard, the first Die Hard's the best of the lot. Besides, none of the others been able to top one of the first one's best assests - one of the best film villians of all time - Alan Rickman's Hans Gruber.

It's a rare thing, but all four are excellent movies. And they are all unique in their own way.

I love the chaos of part three, but I give part one the slight edge simply because it started it and has a perfect screenplay. But it's so close it's not funny.

I go: 1, 3, 4, 2.

The elevator scene in DH3 is the scene to end all scenes.

The original Die Hard is the greatest action film ever made.

Die Hard 2 is a rehash. But it's still solid and very entertaining.

With a Vengeance changed the formula, and it pays off in spades.

Live Free is watered down though Bruce Willis does his best to remain faithful to his John McClane character.

I've seen all of them and the first Die Hard is the best.

I'd go with Die Hard With a Vengeance, probably only because I haven't seen Live Free or Die Hard.

I thought the Die Hard movies got progressively better. The first one was just a badass action movie in a building. Then a damn airport, then an entire city. The scope just got grander and grander, the action got better and better, and John McClane is always John McClane.

I can't wait to see Live Free or Die Hard, but it doesn't hit DVD until November 20.

Die Hard 3, for now.

Die Hard with a Vengeance.

How do you make Die Hard even better? By adding Samuel L. Jackson to the mix of course! Willis and Jackson had such great dialog and chemistry. The movie was full of edge-of-your-seat action. It was everything you could want in an action movie.

Lmao what a silly question, easily the first. Then followed by the 3rd then, Live Free or Die Hard, leaving Die Hard 2 last.

I've been on a big Die Hard kick lately.

1. Die Hard - 9/10 (This is definately one of the greatest action films of all time as it remains thrilling and Hans Gruber is an incredible villain. Bruce Willis is priceless and their are at least 10 scenes that stick with you for life)

2. Die Hard 3: With A Vengeance - 8.5/10 (Very close to being better than the original and definately the funniest of the four films. The bickering between Willis and Jackson is h6ysterical. Jackson is an amazing addition to the Die Hard series and gives it new life after the dull Die Hard 2. Jeremy Irons is also really good although slightly not as good as Alan Rickman in the original. Oh yeah, Willis is great here as well and the plotline was extremely interesting. The addition of the Simon Says games made for some thrilling and suspenseful sequences.)

3. Live Free Or Die Hard - 7.5/10 (Fun movie that kept my interest the whole way through. The action scenes were breathtaking, but still maybe a little too over the top when compared to the other films. Bruce is great here as is Justin Long. The villains were so damn boring though and hampered my enjoyment.)

4. Die Hard 2: Die Harder - 5.5/10 (Just couldn't get into this one. It felt way too deja-vu to the first one and the plot didn't interest me at all. William Sadler was decent as the villain, but he's no Simon or Hans Gruber. Bruce was solid, but not as good in this one. This had a big case of sequelitis, where they totally dumb down the spirit of the original Die Hard and try to go for a bigger approach. Too bad the shit with the marines bored the fuck out of me. It was the most violent of the 4 movies though.)
