View Full Version : Jet Li and Jason Statham's WAR gets hit with hard R rating!

I don't know about anyone else, but the preview for the new film War starring Jet Li and Jason Statham, looked a little PG-13ish to me. But my thoughts were completely wrong as it got slapped with a hard R. I am seriously looking forward to this movie now. But then again, Lionsgate is doing the film, so I guess an R isn't really that big of a surprise. Moving on...

Rated R for sequences of strong bloody violence, sexuality/nudity and language.

I really think that fake blood in a Jet LI movie is really stupid. I mean look at Cradle To The Grave. Also, I thought Jet Li retired?

After seeing the finale of The Transporter Statham seems like he could be this generations big action hero but he has never really gotten much recognition. With this hard R rating this film sounds like it is going to be loaded with more of the same extreme action sequences. Yay for us! Well thats all for now GOoD JOURNEY my fellow schmoes.

Between this and Shoot Em' Up, it going to be a great one two punch of solid R rated action flicks. Kickass! :cool:

300, Die Hard 4.0, Shoot 'Em Up and now War. At least those are great action films with the exception of Smokin' Aces.

I can't wait to see this one. I've been waiting since it was called Rogue but that was apparently taken by a giant croc movie! I'm pretty stoked this is rated 'R'. I really disliked 'The One', the last Statham/Li team-up so I'm hoping this one will be good.

We have this poster up in my theatre lobby and so many people walk by and say "wow" "cool" "thats going to be great!". It just makes me sad

What's the difference between a hard R and a soft R?

Anyway, the movie does look a little generic, like most of Jet Li's action pics . . . still looks like a fun time at the movies.
