I Now Pronounce You. . . Freakin Hilarious!!!
Oh yeah. You heard me. Freakin Hilarious!
I caught the sneak preview for "Chuck and Larry" last night with some friends and we all loved it.
I went into this movie just expecting to have a good time seeing a free flick. I stated in a preivious thread how I was pretty much over Adam Sandler. Well I take that back. This movie totally redeemed him for me.
I thought this was going to be one of those movies where pretty much all the funny stuff was in the trailers. BUT it was hilarious the whole way through, with the exception of a rather touching scene where Kevin James's character Larry finally comes to terms with his wife's death and starts boxing up her clothes.
We pretty much know the basics of the plot. It is explained in more detail as to why Larry's character is in this situation pretty early on in the film via a silly cameo by SNL's Rachel Dratch. There's a great handful of cameo's including Rob Schneider (ofcourse) though as we've never seen him before, David Spade, the actor who plays Terri (the gay guy on skates) in RENO911, a fanny pack wearing Steve Buscemi and even Dave Mathews! They were all so freakin funny. Dan Aykroyd was great as well and had some pretty funny lines. One of the best had to be Ving Rhames. I've always been a fan, but have never seen him in this capacity. He goes literally "all-out" in a howlingly and shockingly funny infamous "shower scene" Jessica Biel was ok. She's not really funny, but I guess the guys will enjoy her flashing her stuff in a few scenes.
But I must say the child actor who plays Kevin's son in the movie is really funny and totally steals the scene more than once and captures probly the funniest scene in the film.
Over all I was totally pleased and so glad I went to see this film. It just goes to show you, that you can't listen to what the nay sayers on these threads will tell you. If you are a fan of any of the actors I mentioned, you will enjoy this movie. Even if you have no idea who they are and are just looking for a good laugh. I recommend this movie.
