I Loved Jurassic Park Its my favorite of the series .Says here supposed to Be Released in 2008 but Its Imdb so not really valid (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0369610/) ,and I remeber there being talk last year of a part 4 but I geuss nothing really happened with it but If they do make it I didn't really Like Jurassic Park :the Lost World, But I liked Jurassic park 3 better than part 2. I'm basically on a wait and see on this one if they get it right I think it might be good so what do you think ,Should they Leave this dead Franchise alone, Or take a go at Part 4.

I say nay… I thought the third got ridiculous.
But… if they just HAVE to make a fourth; it better not be about splicing dog or human genes with raptors.

I know the story behind JP4. I really do. Maybe others here do too. The official plot etc. Should I post some minor details? Of course, that could all change next month. Lol. But IMHO, it sounds only ok to me. But I could be wrong.

Did you come across this information before or after William Monahan (The Departed) was brought on as a co-writer?

Well, a good friend of mine gave me the heads up on the story. His best friend's father works for Universal Studios. And I don't know about the dude you asked above. The proposed story sounds ok. But I'm not really taking to it. Myabe I need to find out more. I'll give you one key word in the 4th movie. "Disease"

yea i remember speculation on one of the plot synopsis ideas for JP4. I liked it a lot.
Possible Spoilers
Its discovered that dinosaurs were not brought to extinction from an asteroid or global cooling or flooding and what not, but a disease.... which Hammond and the JP team foolishly brought them back to modern civilization in the events seen in JP, they also brought back the same disease that extinct the dinos, so now the threat escalates from people trapped on an island to mankind being threatened.
I really love this idea, i just wish it was used for JP3 because that movie was God awful. I don't think people will trust JP sequels as much as they could have before JP3 hit theaters. Besides that the idea really ventures outside the paint by numbers trapped on an island bit that people come to expect in JP films. This is both a good thing and a bad thing. Its good for actually being a strong successful story, its bad because Universal might not know how to market it, and might want another island picture.
End Spoilers

Yes, that's the same story my friend told me. I guess seeing as it may be the veyr last JP movie. That they want the biggest and baddest. Now I'm half expecting another freak dinosaur that never really existed [as far as we know] to top the T-Rex ans the Spinosaurus in JP4. But aprt from that. This virus idea sounds ok. Is Speilberg back at the helm, or Johnspn [spelling]? I haven't been keeping up to date with the project. Not until my buddy told me those few juicy tid bits last week.

I've been following this story for about five years now, since I first heard about it on the now closed upcomingmovies.com. At the first thought of another Jurassic Park sequel, I cringed, remembering just how awful number three was. However, over the past five years, the many rumors and stories I have heard about the newest installment (if at all true) make it seem to be really awesome. Though, now, Spielberg won't be directing it, I heard years ago (and again, I cannot verify this, so it might not be true at all) that he wanted to make up for the lackluster film that was Jurassic Park III and wanted to bring Sam Neill, Laura Dern, and Jeff Goldblum back together along with a screenplay written by Crichton (though it wouldn't be based off any book of his).
As you can tell, things have changed a lot about the status of these rumors (I heard all of those back in 2002), however, I'm still keeping my fingers crossed. If the day comes that JP4 comes out, I hope that it as imaginative and breathtaking as the first film. Jurassic Park was my favorite movie growing up and, now, 13 years later, I still look at it as a milestone in my life. Just let it be great!

The first one is by far the best, but I still enjoyed the two sequels, though they were inferior. If they make a fourth, I'll go see it; I dig the CGI dinos and the nostalgia they put in me - I was a big dino-fan when I was a kid. If they don't make a fourth, I won't cry about it.

I'm always up for a movie with dinosaurs eating people, and I would certainly see a JP4 but they would have to go in a new direction. As people have said, JP3 was just too simple - sort of a low-rent rehash of the superior original. I wanted both sequels to be better, but neither was bad. Just give us a Jurassic Park sequel that's truly worth my time and investment, and I'll be happy.

The virus idea seems good it could be spead by the events of JP2. Someone will probely end up having to go on to the iland to get a dinosaur or some thing for the cure, an then it go's wrong. It will probly stick to the same formular but perhaps the fact that theres real motivation for the danger (which 2 and 3 lack in my opinion) might improve it up to the standards of the original.
In other words Yay. (and does anyone else think that jurrasic park is the best christmas film ever? despite its lack of anything christmasy?)

Dinosaurs to carry guns in Jurassic Park 4
Staff and agencies

Guardian Unlimited
How to revive interest in the long-since festering Jurassic Park series: give the dinosaurs guns! Because prehistoric predators which ruled the earth for millions of years really need to be carrying AK47s to make them more scary. According to horror site Bloody-Disgusting, that is the premise behind the forthcoming Jurassic Park 4, which will see Laura Dern return as Dr Ellie Sattler, although Sam Neill has wisely decided to opt out. The story, according to the site, is that the government has trained dinosaurs to carry weapons and use them for battle purposes. Production is due to start in Kauai, Hawaii later this year.

I'd have rather seen the virus idea, rather than some Turok-esque idea.
Dinosaurs, guns and cities, leave that to Mega-Godzilla.
I enjoy the idea of the virus, it's a little odd yet, but not exactly a bad idea. The general thing I'm think of with that is:
A.) They bring dinosaurs back to study them in the city? They get lose? Whoops?
B.) They go back to the island to work in a lab and a storm knocks out the power. Things get bad. Or they arrive and hell has already broken loose and now they have a time limit in which they must find a cure for the virus before it becomes butt-stank-ugly in the States.
or
C.) Dinosaurs with guns and humans spliced with dinosaurs take over a city and every paleontologists dream of having sexual thoughts with half dinosaur HALF BABE is fulfilled'

Honestly, it's SO easy to find a 1000x more plausible plotline for a fourth installation. Perhaps explore further into the interfering of InGen and the creation of the dinosaurs, like did appear in the original novel. Dinosaurs carrying weapons? Seriously, that sounds like the plot idea for a cheesy underground 1950's Ed Wood B-movie.
Cop No. 633
08-16-2007, 03:20 PM
lol... the idea alone is ridiculous. I agree with Monotreme, it's very Ed Wood. I bet John Sayles was sitting in a conference room for hours, when he finally farted out a thought and the Producers ate up the idea immediately. And then some androgynous person raised their hand and said, "Do the dinosaur hybrids have two sexes like we do?"
While they're at it, they might as well go a step further... Dinosaurs in Space! Imagine how great that would be... a T-Rex on the moon. They should create a dinosaur that can survive in space. Now that would be epic.

Guys, this "dinos with guns" idea has actually been kicking around a couple years now.
When I origianally heard about it (at AICN I believe) I almost thought it was a joke......until I found that Speilberg himself said he thought the idea was "genius". I kid you not.
Not only would the dinos have guns, but the good guys were going to TRAIN "good dinos" to fight "bad dinos" with the mounted weapons (I swear to God I`m not making this up).
Suffice to say, Spielberg must be losing it in his old age.

I could imagine it now:
The President: "How do we stop this asteroid from hitting us???"
INGN Scientist: "Sir, the asteroid would have to be cut with a laser. But the only laser we have that's powerful enough can only be carried by one species on this planet."
President: "By God, tell me!"
INGEN Scientist: "A dinosaur."

My JP4 thesis. Lewis Dodgson attempts to recover the lost embryos that Nedry tried to steal on the first island. Obviously hell breaks loose but Dodgson alone makes it off the island. Makes his own park and opens it the the public when guess what, Dr. Grant, Elle Sadler, and Ian Malcom are all visiting on vacation and a hurricane takes out power sending the island into a buffet with hundreds of visitors on the run. This shit aint hard, get it done Spielberg!
