Hi, me and some pals have been doing these short films, really short films, for a couple of years. Often we meet for a day and shoot it on a DV, production cost seldom rise to 50 bucks.

Now I'm developing a werewolf story. No title yet. Starring one person, taking a bus out in the middle of nowhere to chain himself to anything over the night, since it's full moon. He want to prevent himself for killing anybody.

The thing is supposed to be a b&w thriller, approx running time about 10 minutes. We've bought a werewolf mask for the actor doing the wolf role but it doesn't look to good up close. It's fairly big, in rubber and is quite gruesome but you cannot show it in a close up.

The film will take place at night. And I don't have any clues how to do it properly without showing the werewolf's face. Shadows are good but not sufficient.

Please, can anybody help me? Advice?

IF YOUR SHOOTING AT NIGHT ESPECIALLY IN B&W.
YOU SHOULD USE THE BRIGHTEST LIGHTING YOU HAVE. AND YOU SHOULD FIND A SHEET OR CURTAIN TO USE AS A FILTER FOR THE LIGHT. THAT WAY YOU CAN TAPE THEN CHECK TO SEE IF THERE IS ANY BLOCHES OR SHADOWS.

If you dont want to show the werewolf-than dont. Try this; have the guy get off the bus at dusk, and than tie himself to the tree, log, whatever. Than through a series of blurry, B&W flashbacks have the guy comtemplating wether or not he should just put a bullet in his head. Show the flashbacks of him killing people, running through the woods, waking up in strange place, whatever. Than at the end of the film, just before the sun comes up have him put a bullet through his own skull. If you dont like that than,........I dont really care, But it would be alot cooler, and it would help solve your little problem.
