The clip is kind of old, but I heard people talking about it on the radio tonight and figured I'd share for those who haven't seen it yet.

DeNiro really can fuck off, he's the hired actor, it doesn't matter how many movies he's done, it doesn't even matter how good he is, if the director want energy, the actor puts forth energy, or the actor should be replaced really damn quick.

Fuck Hollywood divas.

De Niro invented Tribeca from the ground up, its his festival and its been said the dude behind the camera was not a director but a advertising agent... If some asshole who makes money filming guys screaming about their low car prices told me to be more energetic when I rather come across as sincere about my festival I would do the same.

That was pissed off? I've seen worse.

It's Deniro's festival and I think he should be able to promote it any way he wants.

Only if he was producting the ad - if not, then HE is under obligation to follow direction just like any other PAID EMPLOYEE

When you give vague direction then that’s the response you’ll get. “More energetic” is perhaps the most generic and pointless piece of direction a director can give.

DeNiro was there for his Festival and they wanted him to be “more energetic” when saying “On Fox”, and DeNiro was dead set against being a spokesman for Fox. There was honestly nothing wrong with the take he did, and we don’t even know what take number that was. We also have no idea what De Niro agreed to, or didn’t agree to.

EDIT: Just read that an agency executive is the voice trying to direct him, lol, De Niro did alright :D
