From ABC News (http://www.abcnews.go.com/Entertainment/story?id=3445071)
"A 40-year-old man was mauled to death by as many as four dogs at the home of Ving Rhames on Friday, authorities said. The victim, who hasn't been identified, had worked at the actor's home for about two years and was responsible for caring for the dogs, said Los Angeles Police officer Sandra Gonzalez. Four mastiffs were seized by animal services, she said.Police got a call at 7:15 a.m. from someone reporting a dead body at the home. Gonzalez didn't know who made the call.
The victim was found on the front lawn, she said. Rhames, 46, who appeared in the "Mission Impossible" series of films, wasn't at home when the attack occurred, she said."

Woah. Ving "Diamond Dog" Rhames, eh? Those dogs are huge. They're probably going to have to put them down.

I wonder how much more there is to this story.
Seems suspect that a call was made but no one knows who made it....
-EDIT thanks for the vid!:)

Mastiffs are HUGE dogs. From what I understand,I thought they were a relatively calm breed, but I suppose any dog can go wild (or can be bred or trained to be).

Rhames was out of the country shooting a movie, according to CNN's Anderson Cooper.
From what I hear, Rhames was a big fan of dogs, and obviously in particular his dogs; for his sake, I hope his dogs aren't put down, but that's probably what will happen.

Ugh. I don't think they should be put to sleep, because I don't believe that the death penalty really applies to animals. Either way, it's a horrible way to go and I hope that guy's family is ok.

Probably not good for Ving's image even though he obviously had nothing to do with the attack. If this guy tended to the dogs for two years I wonder why they would suddenly attack him? They surely would have recognized the man. Well thats all for now GOoD JOURNEY my fellow schmoes.

Are you kidding? Animals will be put down if they attack a person; they don't need to kill the person, just attack him/her. They'll be deemed to dangerous to live and be put to sleep. End of story.

Thats exactly what i was thinking. I really think theres more to it then "he walked in and got rushed by dogs!".

Sadly, once a dog tastes blood (any animal really), it has to be put down.
I'm suspicious about the whole thing myself.
Dogs that are that familiar with someone (2 years?) wouldn't normally attack them unless provoked, that person was doing something they weren't supposed to, OR they were ordered to attack.

With enough adrenaline, a human can rip a door off the handles. If someone's dogs started attacking me for no damn reason, I'd rip their fucking heads off.

Yeah it just sounds kind of suspicious. I mean unless these were new dogs or something and they didn't recognize the man. I don't mean to accuse the man of anything but it just sounds odd. Well thats all for now GOoD JOURNEY my fellow schmoes.

Quite right. I hope they do a thorough investigation.
This is a terrible situation (obviously mostly for the guy who lost his life) and I just hate to see animals put down... Rhames seems to be a soft guy (remember the Golden Globes?) and will probably be devastated by the whole thing.
Very weird that the animals would suddenly go after him, after two years.

I think someone sicked the animals on him.
Did they ever even find out who made the phone call that told them that a body was found?

I always thought that if a dog attacks and draws blood from somebody then the dog has to be immediately put down.
