Where are the movie channels on basic tv? I can't find them anywhere. I'm already mad about having to watch commercials throughout my movies but I can't even find any channels on basic cable tv to watch. Is it really only FX, TNT, and TBS, channels like that? I don't see them playing many movies.
Any help would be great. Thanks!

many cable networks carry AMC, and TCM which are both really great movie channels. Some carry the Fox Movie Channel which is even better as it has no commercials and even shows rated R movies unedited (then again they only play 20th Century Fox Movies). USA has the occasional movie as does Spike. I mean but as far as basic cable goes without paying for premiums channels thats about it FX, TBN, TNT, USA, SPIKE, AMC, TCM and Fox is all that mine carries as well.

You should NEVER watch movies on basic cable. That is what DVD is for...

I think this is the wrong forum for this.

I see movies on several channels, and I don't get premium cable (like HBO and Showtime).
The movies aren't as good because, like already stated, they've got commercials and are edited for content and time. Channels like TBS, TNT, WGN, AMC, TCM. SCI-FI, Bravo, Spike . . . hell, even CMT and VH1 show movies every now again.
The real deal is in theaters and on DVD. They're widescreen and unedited. TCM is the best if you like old school stuff.

Turner Classic Movies (TCM) is the only cable channel that shows all their movies commercial-free, uncut, and, if applicable, in widescreen. Of course, it mostly shows old movies, some of which aren't really generally considered as "classic." So, if that's not your cup of tea, you're probably out of luck.
Although there might also be a Universal channel broadcasted on your signal. I get Universal HD, so there's a slight chance that it's a basic cable channel in some areas. There's also the Fox Movie Channel as mentioned below, although I'm not sure that's a basic cable channel either as I frustratingly don't get it. In any case, naturally, they both only show movies from their respective studios.

I really like watching movies on lifetime ;) The next best channel is FX. However, I do agree with idea of getting a dvd player and renting movies. That's the best way to watch them besides in the theater.

My HDTV is picking up someone else's PPV and TIVO which usually has a good amount of porn, UFC, Norbit, or whatver else is popular that week. (I think I mentioned that in another forum, but what the hell)
Good thing is every once in a while they'll watch something interesting and I get to enjoy it (though it is a bit weird when they watch Starship Troopers or Original Sin and then it rewinds right at the end of the sex scene and then replays it again three times before resuming the film).
