Man what a good movie. It's really a damn shame there doesn't seem to be any interest in this movie because it deserves to be seen.

Josh Hartnett is really great here. Best performance he's ever given. The relationship his character has with Samuel L. Jackson, in another outstanding performance, is great. Yet the real heart of the movie is actually him and his relationship with his 7 year old son. The kid actually gives a good performance too. And there are wonderful supporting work from Alan Alda, Rachel Nichols and Katherine Morris.

I really found this movie to be very touching. Since this movie will be gone next week, I can only hope that it finds the audience it deserves when the movie comes out on dvd.

Resurrecting the Champ is actually one of the best movies of the summer and of the year as well.

There really isn't much appeal for me in this movie. I wasn't exactly sure what the movie was about from the trailer; first I thought it was about a writer redeeming himself by writing about a homeless guy who used to be a champion boxer; then the trailer shot into what seemed to be a scandal type movie. It lost me.

Plus, I'm not really that big a fan of Hartnett's.

MAJOR SPOILERS!

You only have things slightly mixed up. Hartnett is a sports writer who meets a homeless man who claims to be a once big time boxer. Hartnett wants to write a story on him and sees this as his possibly big break. So he hangs out with him and asks all sorts of questions, interviewing him and writes the story.

But the only problem is the guy was lying. He's not who he says he is. Before Hartnett can even come clean, the real boxer's son comes forward and Hartnett is revealed to be a fraud. He was extremely careless in his research. The rest of the movie is the aftermath and him trying to redeem himself by writing another story explaining the entire incident.

But at the heart of the movie is just about a guy (Hartnett) who really wants to do his kid proud. The scenes between Hartnett and his son are among the best in the movie. As well as the scenes between Hartnett and Jackson and Hartnett and Alan Alda and Katherine Morris, who plays his wife whom they are seperated, though they never explained why they were seperated.

I only wish the movie didn't end when it ended so we could find out what happened to Hartnett's character. I would have liked to know if he actually managed to save his career with the article or not. But the movie ends right after he righst the article.

Still, terrific movie. I really loved it. It's by far Hartnett's best performance. I know a lot of people don't seem to like him but I think he's very underrated. Especially here.

Sounds good, but I watched the trailer and I was kind of disappointed. I'll still see it on video, but Sam Jackson's accent kind of wants me to laugh when I know I shouldn't. It reminds me of Tyrone Biggins on Chappelle Show. I'll agree that Hartnett gets way too much hate. I always thought he was decent at least and deserves a good role to show that he has acting chops.
