This opens in TWO DAYS and besides the theatrical trailer I saw online, I haven't seen any TV spots or trailers in the theatre. Strange. No marketing budget I guess :D lol

I've seen a few TV spots here and there. I'm looking forward to this; looks like a kickass action flick.

Looks like a good popcorn action flick with lots of bloody violence and Jason Statham kicking ass to go around. Seeing it this weekend.

Same here. Plus, I'm a fan of Jet Li and especially Jason Statham. As soon as I heard "Jet Li and Jason Statham are at WAR" in one of the television spots, I pretty much was already there. :D

I can't wait.

my expectations for this are "this is going to be crank 2", and if it isn't, i will disown jason statham from my fandom or something. this, in case you don't realise, is a high expectation, because crank was the best movie ever made ever.

Jet Li vs. Jason Statham? I'm pretty sure this is going to rock hard, even if it sucks.

I saw a spot earlier where a part of it was Statham was holding down a bad guy and the guy says, "In Japan, you'd already be dead." To which Statham responds "We're not in Japan." Then he probably blows the guy's head off, though they didn't show it in the spot.

Kickass!!

It looks like it could get me in the cheesy mood for Shoot 'Em Up.

I might have to do a double feature. Hopefully this can stay alive at the box office for that long.

Considering that Shoot 'Em Up comes out in just 2 weeks, it should last that long. Unless it flops THAT bad.

I can't wait to see this. I like it when Jet Li plays a bad guy. My favorite role of his still remains his awesome work in Lethal Weapon 4.

And of coarse Jason Stathom rocks too. These two should make an awesome and formidable duo to see them duke it out.

Plus, the last time these two were in a movie together was the kickass The One. I know a lot of people hated that movie, but I loved it. It was a kickass good time. Just like I'm sure this will be.

Going to see it tomorrow I think. Looking forward to a little bit of R-rated action and violence.

I'm sorry, in which other movie did he face off with a renowned martial arts star? I'll give you "The Transporter 2" for redundancy and "Crank" for incoherncy (as awesomely fun as it is), but this movie is a huge change of pace for him and as well as Jet Li (And "The Transporter," by the way, was simply awesome). The last time we had a movie like this was "Universal Soldier" with Van Damme and Dolph Lundgren.

The movies may be different, but except for his work with Guy Ritchie, Statham plays all his roles the same pretty much. He needs to branch out before he gets type-casted as Bruce Willis lite.

Well, that was disappointing. The action was good when there was action, the acting was pretty par and it had an interesting plot. Other than that, nothing special. I don't know if I liked the third act or not. On one hand, it's clever and I haven't really seen it before but on the other hand, it just felt like a big "Fuck You" to the audience. When the movie ended though, you could hear one guy in the back of the theatre say "uh...what?" and you could sense how the entire audience was mindfudged.

But, yeah, nothing special. Wait for DVD.

You know what, I take back everything I said. I forgot Jason Statham was in "The One" and didn't even know he was in that new "Pink Panther." Well, I see did "War" and this was no "Universal Soldier." It was just your ordinary "Triads vs. Yokuza" flick (with very little "Jet Li vs. Jason Statham"). I haven't even seen any other of "Triads vs. Yokuza" flicks and this felt ordinary in itself. Not only that, this becomes overly ambitious in the end when it was better off playing ordinary.

I'll fully admit, after "The Transporter," (fun all the way), "The Transporter 2," (rehash all the way), "Crank," (crazy fun all the way), this is my first real disappointment from Jason Statham. As for Jet Li, I'd rather he go back to playing in more epic style movies again than waste his time in crap like this. When is this guy going to do another "Kiss of The Dragon" and "Unleashed"? Those are his good non-epic movies.

Look, I love Jason Stathom. I think he's the man in just about every movie he has done. But I'm the first to admit that he basically plays the same badass persona in every movie he is in. And yeah, that definitely includes The One.

I haven't seen The Pink Panther or the movies he's done with Guy Ritchie (Lock Stock & Snatch). So maybe those are different. But in every other role he plays the same persona.

Even, to a lesser extent in Cellular. Sure, in that movie he was the bad guy, but it's really the same badass persona. Just a villian rather than the good guy.

the movie sucked bad. Jet li needs to hook with the guy behind KOD and Romeo Must Die.

Yeah, for sure. At least with that one, we're promised action. I'm wishing I saved the $11 and waited to spend it on Shoot 'Em Up.

*SPOILERS*

I'm probably in the minority, but I fuckin' loved this flick.... My initial reaction at the end wasn't overly positive, but minutes after the more I thought about it, the more I liked it.... Because it's one of the very very FEW movies in Hollywood that ends with the bad guy winning (Arlington Road is another that comes to mind).

The action in this was fantastic, and Jason Statham was great as ever... Jet Li plays a bad-fucking-ass "baddie" as well.... Good movie! :D

i dont know what to think, i thought the 2 leads were decent, everyone else was pretty crap. The editing is probably one of the poorest in recent memory, and all i could think of at the end was "Face/Off"...

i donno 5/10

Overall I thought War was a pretty entertaining action movie. Jason Statham and Jet Li were solid and there were some good fight scenes. My biggests complaint with War was the ending which was a pretty far fetched scenario. The last scene was very anti climatic and they could have definitely found a better way to end the movie.

i would hardly say the bad guy won... jet li is revealed to be statham's partner and statham is basically revealed to be the bad guy and is killed in the last like 30 seconds of the film or whatever. good guy wins.

i love the black guy from six feet under. he was funny in this. this movie was pretty alright. needed more jet li vs. jason statham seeing as it was all "JASON STATHAM AND JET LI ARE AT WAR" but really it was like "THE TRIADS AND YAKUZA ARE AT WAR; WATCH AS JASON STATHAM AND JET LI KIND OF MEDDLE IN THEIR AFFAIRS WHILE THEY LOOK FOR EACH OTHER". it was alright. 6/10? 7/10? it wasn't bad, but wasn't completely outstanding.

I enjoyed it and I actually really liked the ending. But I wish they didn't rush the scene after Stathom was shot. We don't even know if Stathom lived or died and how Li was able to escape.

Do you think they did that on purpose for a possible sequel if the movie were a hit?

Oh yeah, Jason's characters are totally different in Guy Ritchie's films. If you're a Jason Statham fan, you should absolutly check them out.
