And they wonder why we don't take this thing seriously.

They probably have stacks of divining rods in the back.

I did it. They skew questions and work it. they also change the setting until they get something. I am a clear as they would call it and they still worked it to try to get me in. Not happening.

Doesn't seem all that crazy - no different than the tons of psychotherapy tools that are already on the market and found in most high school counselor offices, except there's a sci-fi twist in this case of course.

Not that crazy, but it's still not the way to go. What's life without real love and emotion. Emotions can be beautiful. It's a way to help you squelch issues so you are not miserable, but at what cost. I have no inner dialog like the 'clears', but I am very much a feeling person. Life would be pretty monotonous without feeling on a truly personal level and it makes compassion less of a priority. We are all brothers and our weakest link is our breaking point. Blaming them for their condition because they didn't try is unfair to them and hurts us all. I appreciate the fact that they are trying to gain control of things that make them miserable, but it not the pinacle of human thinking. There is more to us than rational thought and we are capable of being clear and still being in touch with those things you eliminate in order to find inner peace. Peace without the poetry is just quite. No beauty there.
