What's the first DVD you ever bought?

I don't remember the first one I personally bought, my first 3 dvds were gifts and the first one I bought was for someone else. I got Toy Story 1 & 2 gift pack and X-Men with my first dvd layer. I bought my sister Coyote Ugly for her birthday shortly after. I think I then did columbia house deal and got Jurassic Park, Galaxy Quest, Blade Runner and the Matrix. I think the first one i bought for me was Happy Gilmore

Ah, back in good ol' 1999....when the cheapest DVD Player you could get was 300 dollars. :mad:

But funnily enough, though, my whole reason for wanting to get a DVD player was because of these movies coming to DVD. So, obviously, I remember getting this set to break my DVD cherry. As for the second DVD I ever bought, well, I'm not too sure there....

i bought my first DVD's before i even had a proper player to play them on . the first two i bought were The Matrix and Fight Club . i remember buying them because i didn't want to miss out on them before i eventually got my player . i would open them and look through the inserts and the packaging since it was so vastly different than the VHS we were buying before :)

I actually obtained my first DVD as a contest prize. It was Emperor's New Groove back in 2001. The first one I actually purchased was X-Men. Even though I double-dipped on both since, I won't give up either. . . more sentimental than anything else.

I didnt really get to purchase a dvd until a week after getting my player it was christmas of 99 i believe my moms money was christmasd out so we had a deal 4 dvds for free that came with my player a week after that I recieved

Right after I got my super sweet sound system / dvd player, I had to get the first movie I could find with DTS to truly put my beast to the test.
So I bought Pearl Harbor (2001) since it had a DTS track and THX certification (so I could properly adjust my TV with that handy THX setup crap). Ah, good times...

Ive been collecting for some 5 or 6 years now(wow its been that long). To this day I have never bought a dvd player. I have always inhereted, won, or traded my way to get one.

"Pee-Wee's Big Adventure" was the first DVD I ever bought, along with my cheap-o first DVD player. This was in the fall of 2000, back when most DVD's were still usually around $20...now I could probably get that title for $5! How things have changed. :)

I got my first DVD player for my birthday in March of 2000 and with it came Blade, The Matrix, and Deep Blue Sea...

The first DVD I bought was The Secret of NImh two years before that. I'm a collector. I don't remember the first movie I bought after I got the player. It might have been The Replacement Killers of all things.

I hadn't seen the movie in years. I originally saw it in Manhattan in 70MM and it looked amazing! I made it my first buy along with the DVD player back on Christmas Eve 1998. Since then I've added 1500 more DVDs including 3 more Die Hards! Yipee Kayaa!
