If you dare doubt Simon Pegg again, I will gouge out your eyes and skull fuck you.
Seriously, I don't care if David Schwimmer is the worst director in the history of film, Simon Pegg is pure comedic brilliance. He's one of those guys who just can't help but be hilarious. Watch "Spaced," and you'll see what I mean.

I watched when it was shown on television, I think Pegg is funny and Nick Frost is funnier I loved it.! Hot Fuzz is one of the greatest films to come out this year, but this film looks shit to me!

Yeah Simon Pegg is a funny guy...Spaced, Big Train, the owl-eyed fella in The Man Who Thinks He's It, in fact ANY Coogan colab, and even Hippies, yadda yadda yadda...BUT this looks like a big ol' steaming pile of plop whichever way you slice it.

Give it a listen, it's probably funnier than the movie.

Mark Kermode is one of the few critics I actually listen to...he knows his stuff. I like the bit about "Whaddaya mean at last? You can't say "at last" 7 months into the year...etc, etc...!" :D

Aw shit. Shwimmer directed this. Goddamit. The previews made it look bland and ho hum but I kept telling myself it's got pegg in it, it just might be the bees knees. But the more I hears about it the more reality is seeping in through the cracks of that mindset.

Uh , SOTD without the zombies and the funny sidekick . Come on Pegg , resist the mainstream , i know it's enticing and you have the urge to be everyone's friend , but look at some of your compatriots , Clive Owen in particular , they lose something when they go Hwood .
You can't put a brilliant comedic actor who likes to improvise in a standard assembly line vehicle , it just reeks of uninspiration . And then i read that Pegg was hanging with Kirsten Dunst in Nyc recently , oh no , i can see him playing a villian in the next Spiderman movie . Pegg's comedic rebel status is in jeopordy , time for an intervention . Plus there is only so many times he can play the unlucky in love shlub before it gets old .
Get back to that From dusk till Dawn project that was rumored , and do what you do best , i may see this check cashing film out of curiosity , but i'm not going out of my way , the only seperating this from any other aimed at the 20 something crowd cheesy romantic comedy is Pegg , that's not good enough for me .

Dylan Moran is in it , so there is a funny sidekick , he was brilliant in Black Books , okay so this potential turdfest , which sounds like 1000 other romantic comedies has been upgraded to maybe rental :) .

Oh god , was that Pegg doing his best Jack Black impersonation , this is worst than i thought , cliched sight gags running rampant , sigh .

Even Sotd ? Yeah , he played the wussified boyfriend in that one but i wouldn't say he ruined the film , then again , he was so underutilized , he didn't actually elevate the proceedings either . You have to check him out in Black Books , trust me on this one , it's a bit rough going at first , but once everything is estbalished , the series takes off like mad and the comedic brilliance of Moran shines , along with his castmates , it's some hilarious , if irreverent stuff .
Oh right , are skimpy underwear still funny on a guy , okay it is , but not in a comedy , that's what i mean , these jokes are uninspired to say the least . Oh well , i still have to check it out , but i'm still not looking forward to it , this is Pegg and Moran in neutral , better than no gear at all :) .

Black Books is his finest hour but it's been a downward spiral ever since.
At least Bill Bailey still manages to raise a few guffaws on Buzzcocks.

Yeah I loved him in all 3 series of Black Books, but in films hes shit, I like his stand up too, hes very funny, Tamsin Greig, was great in it too though went on to star in the worst comedy show england has seen in years 'green wing', as was Bill Bayley, yes Black books was best comedy shows of recent years, but this film is just another American financed brit shit!

Seen this - It's not terrible, Pegg's as great as ever, a few weak slapstick jokes and the kid actor's pretty naff. But overall a Sunday afternoon renter/cinema ticket if you need to take a girl to an airy-fairy nonoffensive film..

Yes , it doesn't seem like the worst film ever , but Pegg has set the bar so high , he is definitely slumming for a paycheck in this one , but they all do it , so he mind as well get the money while he can , it's just that we know he can do better , and that's what is so disappointing about this film , from the looks of it .
Yes , Moran seems to get lost in the background in any film he's in , but it's not his fault , i think he just chooses the wrong projects , but when he's given free reign to show his stuff , as in Black Books , there's no doubt he's one hell of a brilliant comedian . If anything this film could actually be saved somewhat by Moran , if they let him be the endearing wiseass that he perfected in BB .

It's been getting good buzz at the Toronto Film Festival, at least from Richard Roeper. And the teaser with Hot Fuzz wasn't bad.
I've never even heard of this David Schwimmer guy everyone's complaining about, but it's hard for a bad director to ruin a comedy.

I thought this was a sequel to Run Ronnie Run that follows the exploits of the sheriff's son.
