Directed by Mark Helfrich

Genre: Comedy

Tagline: True love is a blessing and a curse. She's the blessing. He's cursed.

Plot Outline: In order to keep the woman of his dreams from falling for another guy, Charlie Logan has to break the curse that has made him wildly popular with single women: Sleep with Charlie once, and the next man you meet will be your true love.

Starring: Dane Cook, Jessica Alba, Dan Fogler and Ben Ayres.

Rated R for sequences of strong sexual content including crude dialogue, nudity, language and some drug use.

There are a few reasons I will be seeing this. It looks kind of funny, Jessica Alba is smokin' hot and it has a hard R rating. I will be checking this out opening weekend.

I hope this movie fails like Dane Cook's other films. If there's two people who are posing as comedians who do not deserve to carry a film, it's Dane Cook and Andy Samberg. May their careers dwindle into obscurity. Amen. +

Completely agree!

Dane Cook's not funny, Jessica Alba may be "hot" but she's a waste of celluloid and an R-rating means nothing to me nowadays. I see more recent trailers have changed the tone to "Alba's a klutz, but she's so daaaamn lovable!" That obnoxious putz from Balls of Fury is in it, too -- nooo way.

Yeah...totally.

And on a related side note, Dane's "There's only one...OCTOBER!" MLB promos need to go away. Soon.

This looks like crap.

First, it seemed the advertising seemed to show more of Dane Cook's humor, but now they realize it's not funny and most of the ads I see are Jessica Alba getting hurt or clumsily falling down.

Jessica Alba is hot and all, but that's not enough to drive me to wanting to see what looks like a turd.

Looks hilarious and I actually like Jessica Alba and not just for her looks.

I'll see it....but I won't pay for it.

If it's R-rated, I expect boobs.

It's good to know that I'm not the only one who thinks this movie looks about as funny as pancreatic cancer.

this movie is ok about a 6.5/10 it did have some funny moments but they were few and far between
hard r is right there is this 5min scene with nothing but sex and i mean graphic. you do get to see the side of albas boobs for a split sec which was cool but over all the movie felt trashy. i mean i like porn as much as the next guy but if thats what i want to watch thats what ill watch. i hate movies that use explicit materal for no reason the film should have toned down the nudity and uped the romantic comedy and it would have been good

I actually enjoyed this movie. It wasn't the greatest movie ever, but it had a lot of laughs. I was never bored and the audience seemed to enjoy it too.

Good Luck Chuck - 6/10

This movie is very entertaining, but there's no question about it, this is not a GOOD movie. This movie tries to be too funny in parts, and it just doesn't work. There are some jokes that work, but there are more that don't work. Dane Cook isn't funny at all on screen, so I think he needs to stick to stand up. Jessica Alba is loveable, but she really isn't a very good actress. She was good in Sin City, but that's a whole different film. There are a couple of memorable characters, which are Chuck's best friend who is a boob doctor, and Cam's brother who is a major stoner who has some weird philosophies. Overall, if you're looking for a few laughs, some ridiculously stupid humour and some extremely and I mean extremely hot women, then this movie is for you. I don't know if I've ever seen so many hot women in one movie. And also, this movie is pushing NC-17 big time, was this originally NC-17? There are a few parts including a scene with a grapefruit (WTF!) and a few others that you wouldn't usually see in an R rated movie. Go see it if you've already seen the great flicks out there, but it's more of a DVD rental.

Not as bad as i thought it would be.It has its moments.Tons of nudity and sex sequences.A bit over the top.I could tell a lot of people in the audience were uncomfortable. There are stretches when there are absolutely no laughs.I thought the opening 1985 sequence was the best part.Scale of 1-10 a 6 1/2

Yeah, that part kind of gave hope to the movie, but after that it was just OK.

Dane Cook's not a romantic lead, so once again he's completely strained and painful in this. The movie's one note, kind of funny but it gets old. I want to see something where Dane Cook can get nuts.

Better than I thought it would be, although the opening seqeunce made me uncomfortable. And I loved the Robert Kelly cameo.

I really wasn't expecting much from this since nothing really stood out from the trailer or advertising but I ended up enjoying it a lot,. It's hilarious at times with what characters do or say and the acting is mostly pretty good too. Definitely one of the funnier films from this year.

I thought the first half of this movie was very entertaining. The childhood scene, the reception and the montage sex scene were standouts. But the second half just seemed to drag on and on that it got tired real fast. it just felt like dane doing his standup routine in acting form. I enjoyed alba in this more than i thought i would. clumsy, hot girls are hard to come by.
2 1/2 stars
the half is for albas side boobage.

This movie made me laugh a lot more than I expected to. C'mon, you folks who are too serious - that scene with the voluminous chick by the pool, to disprove his 'good luck' status, was side-splitting. It had me in stitches imagining carrying through with that level of sacrifice to win the girl of your dreams. For a light-hearted comedy, this one was a cut above.

I <3 Jessica Alba. I so fell in love with her in this movie. She's so adorable and loveable and radiant. And she gives a good performance. Probably the best work she's done since her Dark Angel days.

Dane Cook is actually pretty likeable in this too. Well that is until he turns into a creepy stalker two thirds into the movie. Those scenes where he is being overbearing to Alba don't work. At times I was even cringing. Also the ending is incredibly corny.

The overall premise of the movie is inherently silly as is the outcome of the movie. But save for the stalker moments, the movie overall is breezy and very enjoyable and very, very funny and Alba and Cook are tramendously appealing both seperate (especially Alba) and together.

*SPOILERS*

I went to see this at the $3 theatre yesterday.... I got about 45 minutes in or so, and had to walk out.... I didn't care, it was only 3 bucks anyway.... What I did like was the good amount of tits I saw.... I like Dane Cook, but when it's NOT his material, he's not that funny at all honestly. The LINE of the movie was delivered by his friend, when they're in the park talking about how he's not gotten laid in 10 years cuz he's an immature ass... And this hot chick walks by and he points out to Cook:

"THAT is who you should be banging.... I'd love to suck a fart right out of her asshole and hold it like a bong hit"

Before proceeding to make the gestures and sound effects illustrating as much. THAT was fucking hilarious! :D

Overall though, once Cook jumped out of a cake in a room full of roses dressed like a fucking penguin all to keep her from leaving him, I became nauseous and proceeded to get the fuck outta the theatre.

i did'nt expect anything from this movie and it was a good job what a pile of cack,it went from bad to awful in no time, the scenes when charlie was trying to show how much he liked the jessica alba charictor were just so bad i felt like smashing up the screen, after a couple of real good rom coms this year this one was a proper turkey.
