Drunken Master 2

The DVD "The Legend of the Drunken Master" is just not good enough. It's DUBBED (YUCK!), lacking in Special Features, and has "fuck ugly" box cover art. Will a proper edition ever be released? Anyone know?

You mean: the powers that be think it won't sell, Jackie Chan wants a lot of $ before they release a proper edition, buying the rights to it would be too expensive for any studio, what?

It costs a lot of money to do some work on a new transfer, new extras (if applicable) etc etc... therefore how many units would you need to sell to break even? And in the case of The Legend of the Drunken Master", I don't think it would sell well. But that's me...

That's too bad it and The Five Deadly Venoms are the only holy grails that I don't already have in my DVD collection. :(


P.S.
I know there exists an edition of the Venoms, but the "picture" quality/"Transfer" isn't good and it has absolutely no Special Features. Therefore I'll wait for someone to put out a much better edition, thank-you very much!

I own that 5 Deadly Venoms DVD. Cheapest made DVD I own. It doesn't even have a menu, just plug it in and it plays the movie. When finished it just stops playing the DVD. But a classic movie I'm glad I own.

you can purchase a Chinese Copy of this movie on EBAY with English subtitles... the picture isn't as good as the dubbed version, but it's still watchable.

Just make sure it's region free.

Maybe Dragon Dynasty will re-release this one day. I like the film, but not as much as the original.
