James lied to Vesper just to get in her panties! I cant blame the guy but come on James, I thought you were better than that. At the Casino Royale when James is first asked to enter a password for the bank account you can clearly see he does not type in the word "Vesper." Yet when James is at the hospital and the man from the bank asks James for the password he claims it was "Vesper." And what happens? Suddenly that uptight biotch is all over Bond's jock. Then he lets her drown, what a sad ordeal.

i was pretty sure htat he did acctaully type in vesper as the password, and if he didn't why did it work when she typed it in?? i think your claim is a sham sir ;)

James didn't let her drown. I have to see the sequence over again, but she kind of committed suicide when she backed away from the door. He would not have let her drown - it's not in his profile.

And he probably did use her name as the code, but it was a continuity error that we saw. And if he did lie, well that wouldn't be the first time James Bond did that with a woman.

Sorry about that, I figured with a year old movie it wouldnt matter. Anyway I was only kidding about Bond letting Vesper drown just to add to my rant. However, after viewing the two scenes involving the password, it does appear to be a continuity issue. James CLEARLY does not type "Vesper" at the Casino Royale but you're right vesaker, Vesper herself types in the password at the end and it does indeed work. So ultimately to blame for this, Martin Campbell and his editing team. For crap's sake, you know when you film the scene that the password is Vesper, couldnt you make sure Daniel Craig typed the correct digits. Some continuity issues are forgivable, but something so obvious should have been done right the first time. So thats my new rant, fix the obvious continuity screw ups people!

Actually, I'd like to know how many of us do lie in order to get with someone...I'm sure it happens a lot more that most of us like to admit - I'm not talking about outrageous lies (I'm a pilot, what's your number...)but little ones:pretending to like a band/movie/etc...just to hook up with someone.

if anything i would refrane from making fun of something a girl liked to get into her pants, i wouldn't lie and say i like the stuff but i wouldn't tear it apart either.

In my experinces its best to be yourself cause thats what you want them to like in the end anyways so if they don't like the way you realyl are then they are not worth your time.

If guys stopped lying to women it would be like a vow of celibacy. Of course we have to throw a few half-truths in there every now and then.

Moore did it to Jane Seymour in Live and Let Die.

He pulled out a tarot deck full of lovers.

hehehe

Guys do "Exaggerate the Truth" from time to time. Why? Becuase we have to.

If a smokin hot girl came up to me, and we started talking and she said "My favorite movie is The Hot Chick".

Well, do I bash her saying that movie is fucking garbage and there is no way anyone should ever like that movie?

Or.....

Do I say "Yeah, that's not bad" just to make her feel more comfortable?

Unfortuantely, when couples start relationships, a lot of what is said is either fabricated or completely made up in order to initiate the attraction process.

But hell, what do I know.

See this is my big problem with a lot of this flick...James Bond is a bad ass cold hearted killer...at least (SPOILER) by the end he's finally there (end spolier) but it was an ok flick. Just the 20 mins of "love story" really bothered me. I like the last line of the book
SPOILER
The bitch it dead.
SPOILER OVER

at least I think that was it...looking forward to the next Bond flick with the more hardcore Bond

Thats the point of the origin/prequel, to set him up as a human being and give him a reason to act cold hearted. They succeeded and now we all have new respect for the character, at least i do.

Don't get me wrong. I dug the flick and thought Craig was great...I've liked him for awhile and after watching Layer Cake I remembered thinking "yeah he could be James Bond." I Just really hated the "love story" non action part of the flick...not knowing the book I was worried it would end the way most bond flicks end with him and the girl (in this case his wife) in bed makeing jokes....so yeah, totally dug the flick, just not much re-watchability for me...bring on the next Bond flick and I'm there 100% as opposed to the 80% or so i was for Casino Royale...Die Another Day left me in a very "meh" mode about the whole franchise..plus I knew tarantino pitched a Bond flick (same on right?) and he didn't get it....but I went, i saw, I enjoyed, and I'm looking forward to the next kickass and realistic Bond as opposed to the "cool gadget" or "lovey dovey" Bonds.

now before i say anything i understand what our saying, but.....

***Sopilers***

Thats the whole point, thats HOW they turn him into the cold harted killer that Bond is. He starts as a cocky bad ass who just got his 00 status. He's on a mission and meets this hot chick he wants to bone, one of many i'm sure.

Things go down and they start to connect more until the point where she can resist no more, and so few can, and they fall in love. Now he's to the polar end of his character in the happy go lucky i wouldn't trade this for the world.

Then he finds out it's all a sham, she was just doing this to get the money to pay the 'orginaization' so they would let her boyfriend go (the one that gave her the Algerian Love Knot) and he see's this whole new world that he was so looking foward to (enough to quit MI6) come crashing down around him which gives us Dun Dun Dun Duuuuuuuuun...... Cold Harted, Womanizing, Bad Ass Mofo Killer Bond.

And technically the last line of the movie is "the bitch is Dead" if you don't coun't the little bit with Mr White at the end which is just there to show that the story will continue which may not have been the intent of the orginial book.

And yes the next movie there should be much less love story but i think the only reason i didn't like it as much in CR was cause it made the movie feel longer then it needed to be casue it was all at the end.

It seems like whenever they try to develop a real love story in a Bond film they can't do it in the time frame of under two hours. Casino Royale is the longest running time for a Bond film followed by On Her Majesties Secret Service.

The last time I watched it, it did look like he typed in "VESPER."

And I find it funny that you say he lied to her, when in fact she's the one that betrays him.

To Vesaker...totally agree with you...just didn't dig it...i understand it now and the reason I won't watch Casino again is just cause that love story is Bulky...not cause it's a love story....like I said not knowing the book is all that worried me and i LOVED when he finally dealt with everything and became the real James Bond, and I probably dug it more due to the love story aspect....so in essence...we cool. :)

Well perhaps you should watch it again because he clearly does not type "Vesper." Also, I retracted my statement about him lying to her after someone pointed out that Vesper herself types the password the second time. Therefore, it was clearly just a continuity problem, but I guarantee you that is not the password Bond typed.

yeah your right i watched it again and he doens't type vesper..

vesper should be 837737 and he clearly hits a 4 and a 6 when he types his in. You would think though that it being part of the story they would have taken better care to make sure that didn't happen.
