Wow. To have JASON X ranked higher than Jason Goes to Hell, Part V, and Part VII is just ridiculous to me! I'd probably agree with Manhattan being the worse though, being tied to X. The rest of the list isn't TOO bad.. I'd probably place The Final Chapter and Jason Lives a few spots down, and move Part 2 up. I don't see why the original got an almost decent rating but none of the sequels did.

Part 5 is a huge guilty pleasure for me and I find it to be good fun with some goofy as fuck characters and a couple hilarious death scenes. I really fucking hate Jason X.

The list doesn't surprise me. You've got to remember that there are so many stupid kids watching these movies without having any real knowledge of the franchise. JASON X and FREDDY Vs JASON fare better than they should do because they're the most recent and are more likely to be seen by dumb teenagers.

FRIDAY THE 13th PART 4:THE FINAL CHAPTER is the best by far. It is the most complete slasher movie of all time. :)

I'm sure it's gonna get me ripped on but I enjoy the f#ck out of jason takes manhattan. Now don't get me wrong, It's not the best move in the series. It makes no sense but it's pure fun for me. I'd probably go with F13 part 6 as my fav but I love them all.

I didn't like 6 all that much. Probably for the same reason I didn't like RotLD2. It seemed to me like they were trying to hard to be funny at parts. I like the first one the most.

I haven't seen Jason X, but I really loved the kill I saw on youtube from Jason X. The one where he shoves that chicks head in the liquid nitrogen(?) and then throws her aside like a ragdoll. I could imagine him saying "bitch, please!" in that situation if he ever said anything at all. I got the same vibe from when he killed that one chick in 7.

I always come back to part 3 , to me it's the quintessential Friday movie that got everything right . Excellent cinematography ( for a horror film ) , great location ( i love the lake and surrounding area they used in this one ) , effective characters , great kills ( even if they weren't the goriest in the series ),a menacing Jason , excellent music .

The 3d just added to the overall effect , you can tell , looking past the cheap tricks , the camerawork was top notch , as was the lighting and composition . I think it set the standard for the series , even if most people don't rank it at the top , it was a turning point for the series .

What is also awesome about this installment is that Jason gets his iconic mask finally , and the way he gets it is terrific , in addition to who he swipes it from ( poor Shelly , he was thisclose to getting some finally ) and what he does right after ( harpoon anyone ? ) .

What a bravura last 5 minutes to end the proceedings , those images are ingrained in my memory . That last shot of the calm lake is chilling .


It has to be seen in proper 3d in order to fully appreciate it .


3 - the best all around

2 - probably the best kills in the series and it was genuinely creepy

1 - it's the original , it still packs a creepy and cheesy low budget punch

4 - Corey Feldman lays a beat down on Jason , gotta love it

6 - Supernatural Jason and a tongue in cheek approach leads to high levels of entertainment

F vs J - i agree , it's more a Freddy film than a Jason one but it was cool to see these two icons beating the piss out of each other , the rest of the film blew chunks though

7 - More supernatural goings on and a chick who has the powers of telekinesis , cool but a bit too silly , the series really started to decline with this one

8 - Just about the death knell for the series , it had it's moments , but i lost almost all interest in Jay Jay after this debacle

Jason goes to Hell- he went to hell allright , but it was kind of redundant because he already did in part 8 :) . This is another one that i don't consider part of the series

5 - where the feck was Jason ? Total disappointment , i really don't consider this one part of the franchise

Jason X- X marks the spot , where a once cool franchise totally runs out of ideas and sends our hero into space

I could interchange IV and III as my favorite in the series, they are both easily the best entries. It's tough for me to put Manhattan over the remake, but the head punching scene is better than the whole remake.
