Lots of Terminator news as of late. The latest news which I hear on my drive into work of all places is that Vin Diesel is in talks to star in the upcoming Terminator 4 movie. The squack box says that he is in talks to play the terminator but there is nothing to back this up. He could very well be in talks to play the new hero . You will recall that the movie will be based further in the future and not around John Conner, instead it will be about his protege. Frankly I couldnt think of a better person to play the role of bad ass, robot killing protege to John Conner then Vin Diesel. Vin cant act his way out of a paper bag but he plays some roles well... bad asses.

We already know that Nick Stahl and Claire Danes will not be returning for the film. They told this to sci-fi a year or so ago. Nick also spilled the beans that the plot would take a twist and be based further into the future we just didnt pick up on it. Quote:
"I'm not going to be in T4," Stahl said in an interview while promoting his latest film, the upcoming Sin City. "None of the cast is coming back." Stahl said that the producers' current plans may not even include original Terminator star Arnold Schwarzenegger, who is now the governor of California.

Stahl added: "The [T4] story is changing conceptually. I believe it's a jump to the future, so my character will be quite a bit older. That's all that I know. So I'm not coming back, which is a drag. I don't know much more than that."
Stay tuned for more! Terminator 4 will still be one hell of a movie.. at least I hope it will be.

I love the original Terminator and am not sure how I feel about Arnie ,b ut Diesel does fit the profile for the next terminator maybe it'll be good. I would like to see Nick Stahl and Claire Dane back too bad they're not returning.

There's a Sarah Connor show that I was gonna watch but I missed.

They should blow everyone's minds and get Donald Trump to play the T-4000.

He'd throw someone in lava and look at the camera and say, "You're fired!"

Vin Diesel would be a good terminator, but if I wanted someone to replace Arnie, I'd prefer the Rock (or Dwayne Johnson, whatever he's going by now).

Still won't be the same without Arnie though.

I actually think Diesel as the Terminator would be a really bad move. Then again, anyone in the role who isn't Schwarzenegger doesn't seem right to me at all.

There is no need for another Terminator. Arnie is and always will be the only Terminator. And if he can't do the job (which he can't cause he's a busy motherfucker), then there is no need to make a 4th.

he better be a good terminator. he has way to much charisma to be a bad guy. people would want him to win. i know he was the bad guy in doom but only the last 5min so that doesnt count ;)

they do need to make a 4th because the story is unresolved you dont know for sure that the robots lose. a good war story set in the future would rock!!

While I would love to see Arnie come back, I would also like to see the series take a new direction with an entirely new cast. Remember, if what sources say are true and it is set further into the future than the one we have already seen, the T-800/101 would be an obsolete model anyway, meaning Arnie would only have an extremely minor role or none at all. I think people need to stop thinking about "big" actors to play the role of the new Terminator. Diesel and The Rock would be BAD choices because they can't act for shit.

People should be thinking more along the lines of specialist Terminators like the T-1000 and casting actors whose main trait is not physically big (Anyone remember Robert Patrick? He did an awesome job.)

While I'm disappointed that Arnie doesn't appear to be returning, at least Vin Diesel has little enough range as an actor to play a robot.

Rock as the bad guy and Vin as the good human soldier.

I actually don't see Diesel being that bad as a Terminator but it'll never be the same without Arnie.

Pretty much how I feel. If anyone can do a decent job it's going to be Diesel.

Since Diesel will most likely not have much dialogue I think he could pull off being a Terminator. He can look menacing enough. I think the third movie should have been set in the future. It really should have been capped off with the sequel though. Cameron is the only one who would have really been able to advance the story in any significant way and if he couldn't do it then nobody else should have attempted it. Well thats all for now GOoD JOURNEY my fellow schmoes.

The Rock was a heel for most of his wrestling career. Even though he was bad, people loved his character so much that they cheered for him (even when he made fun of them).

I absolutely love the idea of The Rock playing the Terminator. He could be a good guy or a bad guy. He certainly has a bigger fanbase than Vin Diesel.
