I don't know how reliable AOL news is...

The only way they could do a sequel about the Goonies would have everybody come back and they're all has beens in some way or form. They need to feel that spark they once felt as kids. Why? Because no kids these days will understand how fucking cool the Goonies were and a ton of adults would go see it strictly for nostalgia.

On that note, I would have Sloth and Chunk be hardcore drinking buddies always getting into bar fights and starting shit wherever they go. Sean Astin's character would be a boring real estate agent. Corey Feldman would be Corey Feldman. And Data would be an inventor like he always was and be the only successful one of the group who funds their new expedition to wherever.

Screw this, "Oh, let's follow their kids" storyline. We want to see the OG Goonies back in action if they do make a sequel.

I still doubt it though.

as much as i'd love to see this it's alittle too late for a sequel after almost 23 years

Ehhhh... I have been hearing Goonies sequel rumors for six years now. While I love the film and would go see the sequel in theatres at this point I wouldn't believe any talk of it happening until I hear that filming has begun. Until then I'm considering this news null and void. Well thats all for now GOoD JOURNEY my fellow schmoes.

I'd only see it if the original cast came back. I'm dying to know how some of those Goonies turned out and I wanna see Sloth again! "HEEEEEY YOU GUUYYYYSSS!":D

I liked the original Goonies, but I don't see what others do in it being a classic. I grew up with it, but I thought it was an ok movie. People seem to think it is the greatest movie ever, or up there.

As for a sequel, I will believe it when filming is finished.

Don't mean to be a downer but unfortunately the man who played Sloth died of heart failure possibly due to steroids. Replacement maybe? Well thats all for now GOoD JOURNEY my fellow schmoes.

WHAT?

No mention of Anne Ramsey?!?!? *GASP*

Sadly she passed away in 1988 so that would be 2 actors.

There was a suuposed sequel on the drawing board and it has been mentioned here on the boards but from what I last heard it got scrapped.

:confused:are they seriously going to do this...even if they got all of the original actors what would it even be about...seriously...i mean i loved this movie growing up...i STILL love this movie...so I don't understand why they would make a sequel this late...maybe i will lighten up once an actual story line for it has been created...but untill then i am against this one even happening...

No sequel could ever touch the original; it’s doomed to fail.
