I really am dying to see ‘He Was a Quiet Man’, it played a couple of film festivals and gained quite the positive buzz but now I'm hearing talk of a January DVD release date!?
Can someone start an online petition to have this movie get a theatrical release, I know I'm not the only person who wants to see this!!

I'm really looking forward to this, makes me a sad panda that I won't likely get to see it at the cinema, if that ends up being the case I'll buy it anyway.

I'll definitely check this out since I'm in LA, and I think this looks more interesting than most flicks out. It pisses me off that smaller films like this never get a good release. I'll be sure to post a review for you guys.

I've heard rumors it's getting a release at the end of the month.

I don't see what looks good about this movie anyway, but does it really seem like the kind of movie you'd pay $10 just to see in a theater?

I'd say the same for a lot big films like Transformers, Beowulf, Ocean's 13... they just don't interest me whatsoever. This film could definitely be hit or miss... but I'll take my chances.

The pic is pretty damn cool but the problem was the main US distributor is a DVD only outfit (Starz) and has never done theatrical. The filmmakers convinced them to do a small limited theatrical run in 4 cities just to get qualified for certain awards, etc. So there was ZERO advertising and because Slater is stuck in London and Macy is off directing, there was no US PR prescence of its leads so hence - no one knows about the film - means no BO, means theatrical will be short lived.
It may do the Donnie Darker routine - flourish in DVD, get a re-release theatrically. This is not a typical Hollywood and stays unpredictable all the way to the last frame. A definate Star Bucks discussor.

Yeah i'm pretty pumped for this.
We've been going through a Slater binge lately and this looks pretty awesome.
He must really loves his black comedies...this, Very Bad Things, Heathers...can't complain though, Very Bad Things (so underrated) and Heathers are ace. And as long as he's not doing Uwe Boll movies, that's cool with me.
