Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story (http://www.apple.com/trailers/sony_pictures/walkhard/trailer1/)...is the latest from Judd Apatow. I think it looks hysterical. It parodies musical biopics like Walk the Line. And it's about time that John C. Reilly got a lead role, I love him. Oh and Jenna Fisher too!

Yeah it could go wither way, could be hit or it could be a flop, I'm hoping for A but I'm kind of expecting B.

I'm all for John C. Reilly getting big roles because hes awesome, but this seems pretty lame. The Patrick Duffy cameo, however looks priceless.

Looks like it will have some moments but will probably be a rental...

There are actually a ton of cameos in here...did you see Jack Black playing Elvis? Who would've thought, but that looks hilarious. Also Paul Rudd as John Lennon.

The trailer is really hit or miss for me in terms of it's jokes, I hope the movie is more hit than miss but who knows.

Definitely looking forward to this movie. The trailer was like 80/20 funny/lame. And that's good enough to get me in.

1. John C. Reilly is one of the funniest and most brilliant character/improv actors working today. Just watch him literally steal the show from EVERYONE, including Sacha Baron Cohen, in Talladega Nights.
2. Jack White plays Elvis.

And that's enough to get me to fill a theatre seat. Well actually, just #2 is enough, but #1 isn't half bad either.

Come on, guys! I thought everybody around here loved Apatow productions, even the silly-and-occasionally-lame-but-totally-hilarious Anchorman; and Walk Hard looks to be in similar vein when it comes to the sense of humour. So come on, guys! More supporters! Where are the Anchorman fans?!

I love Anchorman and pretty much most Apatow's work, just felt the trailer was a bit hit or miss. I will probably most likley end up liking this since I've liked most of their other work as well.

I'm definitely an Apatow fan, so naturally I'm excited for Walk Hard. After I watch the preview, I have that "Walk Hard" song in my head too, I actually think it's pretty good (and funny). Apparently they held a little screening and press conference for the film this past weekend and I found this news (http://hollywood-elsewhere.com/archives/2007/10/walk_hard_press.php) from it. Good stuff.

I think this looks really bad and I don't think the trailer made me laugh once. I think it looks like it could be more of a Blades Of Glory or Fun With Dick And Jane or Talladega Nights (Which sucked) than a Knocked Up or Superbad or 40 Year Old Virgin which ruled. Judd's kind of a hit or miss guy when it comes to the movies he's involved with.

Paul Rudd as Lennon was the only part I laughed at during the trailer.

Agree 100%.
The trailer seemed a lot less funny and more "biopic with funny scenes between songs", more along the lines of A Mighty Wind, and I'd rather see John C. Riley just being funny in every single scene possible.

Looks like it'll either be really really funny or really, stinking bad. I'll admit, though- I thought Anchorman looked like total crap from previews but I wound up loving the actual movie.

(Note on Anchorman: Actually mostly hated Ferrell and Applegate in that movie, so I was right on that one- wtf was with her face? Anyawy, it was saved by Carell and Riley and cohorts, imho, and the "Anchorman Rumble" should have won an Oscar. Or more of them, if it did.)

I think it looks funny. The trailer is a bit hit and miss, but it still made me laugh. I'm definitely in the John C. Reilly camp, and the cast in this looks hilarious.

Isn't that Jack WHITE as Elvis?

And did anyone catch who is playing Buddy Holly? It's only a split second in the trailer, but it's a really funny bit of casting if you ask me.

Yes, it's Jack WHITE as Elvis. Best. Casting. EVER. Jack Black is also in this film; he plays Paul McCartney. :)

Yes, Jack White. Got my names confused. Jack Black as Paul McCartney is so awesome, though. And then Paul Rudd as John Lennon, Jason Schwartzman as Ringo Starr, and Justin Long as George Harrison is also classic. The cameos in this movie are insane.

Eddie Vedder. Hahahaha, I fucking laughed hard when I saw him.

Yeah, there's certainly no shortage of awesome people showing up in this. Jack White AND Jack Black, how about that. I didn't even realize Black was also in this, color me more excited.

And let's not forget about Frankie Muniz as Buddy Holly. Hilarious.

I think the trailer was just oddly put together. I'm sure the movie will be hilarious.

It looks lame, just like everything else Judd Apatow has been involved with (excluding Superbad).

Ok, first of all Jake Kasdan is directing this, NOT JUDD APATOW (He's producing), and the only other movie he's done that was half-way decent was Orange County.

I didn't laugh once during the trailer.

And I am getting pretty sick of how studios are jumping on Judd's back and riding him all the way to the bank.

Looks terrible, a shame since it's by the director of Zero Effect and The TV Set both of which I liked.

I think this will be one of those movies who's whole is greater than the sum of it's parts.

I'll be checking it out, for sure. Truthfully, though, I think it'll be in and out of theaters pretty quickly. This movie doesn't really have mass market appeal. I'd like to be wrong, just so Reilly can have a hit starring role, but otherwise, I think this'll end up with a bigger life on DVD, maybe being something of a cult hit.
