Its the debut solo album from one of the guys from System of a Down. Anybody heard this album yet?

I like it, it sounds like a SOAD record, only a whole lot more political and much more vocally centred. Serj plays quite a few numerous instruments and its pretty much what you would expect although there's only one song where another SOAD turns up.

Opinions?

I thought it was mediocre and not enough removed from SoaD the first few times I listened to it, but the more I listen to it, the more I love it. "Lie Lie Lie" and "Saving Us" are fantastic tracks.
Plus, "Praise the Lord and Pass the Ammunition". Best song title ever.

I think it's blander than bland. A couple of the songs are keepers, but in my opinion, the album sounds like SOAD without the catchy hooks.

Well I'm a System fan so I'll at least give it a listen. I always found Serj to be an interesting vocalist so I'll give whatever he does a chance. Whether I like it will be a different story. Well thats all for now GOoD JOURNEY my fellow schmoes.

love the cd, been listening to it nonstop since it came out 2 weeks ago.

Empty Walls and Lie Lie Lie are my 2 favorite tracks

I downloaded a few tracks but nothing really got me into it. I'm glad I didn't buy it as I probably would have been pretty disappointed. Well thats all for now GOoD JOURNEY my fellow schmoes.

Agreed, there were only a few songs I deemed as good, or better than regular System of a Down styled fare.

Toxicity is the only album I like by SOAD.

And is it just me or has Serj's singing gotten much much worse?

Or maybe he can sing but he just didn't want to try (ie: Modest Mouse's singer Issac Brock isn't great, but he can hold a tune if he tries (see- "Missed the Boat") - it just seems like 99% of the time he doesn't try and just yelps the words)

its a lot of collected stuff, and only some of it hits me, and most of it misses. Ill stick to SOAD.
