As I watched the greatness that is THERE WILL BE BLOOD, I noticed this peculiar score. Since then, I've read reviews and every single one singles out the score and calls it either daring or original. Or at least different. So what are some of the most original scores out there?

One that I really liked, that a lot didn't, was THE WEATHER MAN. It's a great movie, with an amazing score my Hans Zimmer. The other one is from another PTA film, Punch Drunk Love. Both of these scores are unlike any other ones ever done.

Damon Albarn and Michael Nyman's score for the 1999 film Ravenous is wildly unconventional. Check it out if you're not familiar with it.

Props to anyone who mentioned REQUIEM FOR A DREAM.

It's astonishing how the same piece of music was able to suit different situations in the film. When the scene meant to be shocking, the music established that. When it was meant to be romantic, it succeeded too. And when it wanted to be sad and melancholic, it helped break my heart.

Spectacular.
