This was the cinema's first escape movies and I haven't seen it. I was thinking of picking it up, but I wanted to know your thoughts about it first.

Definitely a good movie. Widely acclaimed as a masterpiece, and has Spine #1 on the DVD Criterion releases. Highly recommended, and a very nice introduction to Jean Renoir.

Don't expect anything action packed or anything.
