Check HMV the last 2 times I was there I saw this for $15... it blew my mind and I almost bought it even though I already own it.. and Yes I'm talking about the Director's cut DVD with the whole graphic novel.

Yeah I was able to pick up the Unrated extended recut DVD from HMV for $16.99 (CAN) a few months ago...I was glad I waited. Honestly, I wouldn't go for a double dip if it's 40 dollars, unless you REALLY enjoy the special features aspect to it...because it does have some nice ones. However, if you want it for the unrated/extended aspect, you may be dissapointed, because it only gives you the option of viewing each segment of the film on its own instead of as a whole...and to be honest, not too much of the extra content is anything to rave about. The first disc has the theatrical version, of course, so you can watch it as whole in that way. I wouldn't pay a lot for it unless you're a huge fan.

I upgraded, and I'd recommend it, but I will say that the director's cut didn't blow me away, and neither did the bonus features. So I was slightly disappointed with high standards and expectations, but it's still worth upgrading from the crappy bare bones copy.
