Anyone a fan of them? I'm not as much into the band or it's history, as I am into Amy Lee. I think she's very fucking hot, and has an AMAZING voice... I have both of their studio albums, and their live concert DVD/CD as well.

I really liked the DVD (Anywhere But Home), and the backstage features, etc. it seems like they put on a pretty decent show.

I obviously think "Fallen" is better than "The Open Door" but the latter has some great songs on it as well. I had heard that there was an unreleased "first" album of theirs, or something... That the band didn't want to be released (was it an album or a song or single)?

Anyway, great music with a great vocalist... I look forward to more of their stuff as it comes.

I used to really love them back then but kinda lost interest. "The Open Door" is a pretty bad album, but it's grown on me. My favorite songs are definitely the oldest, rarest ones. "Forgive Me", "Away From Me", etc.

Get ready for the attack of the "*this band* is so much better."

So is Nightwish. And Lacuna Coil and Tristania . . . and Epica and Xandria and This Mortal Coil. Maybe Octavia.

But I like Evanescence.

Nightcrawler, I've tried listening to Lacuna Coil and a coupla other gothy-chick bands, and just thought they were terrible.... I really like Amy's vocals, I don't think they can sing half as well as she can.

I've loved Evanescence ever since I heard "Bring Me To Life" and "My Immortal" in Daredevil, got home from that, instantly got online to find out who they were and downloaded both songs, pre-ordering Fallen as soon as I could.

I haven't given The Open Door many listens, it's a good album but not nearly as much as Fallen. I also absolutely love Origin, it's a shame some of the tracks on that weren't carried over to Fallen, "Where Will You Go" is one of the best tracks they've done.

Also have a load of EPs, Demos, Live albums and shit on my computer that you can't seem to buy anywhere. Some very cool shit in those.

And yeah, Amy Lee is very hot :D.

I think its very hit and miss... I saw them do a special acoustic show and Amy sounded great... but when she was running around the stage at Download, she failed to hit most of the notes.

She definatly can sing, but she needs to learn to control her breathing while running around like a lune!

I remember how I instantly loved Fallen. It did take awhile, but after listening to The Open Door for awhile, I ended up loving that album as well. But yeah, I'm a huge fan as well. Saw them live early this year and thought they were great.

"Where Will You Go" is probably my favorite unreleased song by them. I also like "Farther Away" and "Breath No More", but I know those were also on the live CD/DVD.

I've not heard Nightwish I don't believe.... I know the band, but I don't think I've heard any of their stuff... Same with Within Temptation, I may check those bands out.

Agreed on all accounts. Better musicianship, better vocals, just overall better. I still enjoy Evanescence, but, there are so many other great bands with girl singers out there.

My respect for Amy Lee went downhill when i heard her duet with Korn/Jonathan Davis ("Freak on a Leash") Good gravy was it horrid.:mad::(

I've tried listening to a coupla songs from each of the bands you've listed above.... They're all complete fuckin' garbage with the minor exception of Xandria. They're not too bad, compared to the others. But Evanescence is infinitely better than all of those bands combined in my opinion.

But I tried, and I appreciate the recommendations. ;)
