Do you know how long it's been on the air? How many episodes there are? How many eras there have been? How many discs it would take to cover all the seasons and or episodes?

Yes the program ran from 1963 to 1989, for 26 years and then was resurrected in 2005 and is now in it's third season since its revival. In the original series run there was 737 episodes but they were mostly of the 30 minute variety. Now from 1967 to 1978 many of the episodes were destroyed or erased. Of the first 253 episodes, 108 of them are lost. Since it's reincarnation there has been 41 epsiodes which are now of the 60 minute variety. So all told there has been 778 episodes but like I said probably 200 or more of them have been lost. This the reason you see them sold as a few episodes here or there because there is no complete season until 1979.

there has been ten doctors to play the role since its 1963 debut.
