That looks awesome. Glad to see this, I like the live films but I always thought it would be better if it was made into an animated or CG movie.

Far fucking out. I ducked the last release in the live action series, but this one seems to be following the games. With this and Resident Evil 5, 2008 is going to be a good year for the series.

This looks really good! It's kind of like what they did with Final Fantasy VII (which I thought was awesome) except now with Resident Evil... I'm interested to see how this'll turn out.

How can it based on the games and the movies when they are completely different?

Yeah, I know, I'm just a bitter Resident Evil fan, the games that is. And I'm disgusted that a great series has had its name smeared by a trilogy of movies that in no way resembles the games themselves. How you can take something great and change it all around into something crappy is beyond me. But this CG flick looks promising.

Definitely if hollywood make only shit with the franchise its time to see what CG can.. if you liked the cinematics in the games like re:nemesis or re 4 im sure there is a more promising history in cg cause' you can dispose of a shitty real cast and tell the real hsitory behind the lines.. I would like if someone like Albert Wesker tell it like in Umbrella Chronicles.. And too resident evil 5 is getting here on september for the 360..I can't wait.

I'll be seeing this. I'm a huge fan of the games and, if it's done right, this could be a huge hit.

damn stright, i couldn't believe they even had Claire (and Wesker for that matter) in the 3rd film, and for what? dick all thats what.
If they had kept these movies to the minimum referencing of the games like the first flick was then they could have been better. But oh no, the first one did good so lets start tossing in as many characters from the games and do next to nothing with most of them even though no characters from the games are in the first movie. I'm still not sure how they came to the idea that that would be good and make them more money.
I meen for the second one ya cause they had Jill doing what Jill pretty much does for most of RE3 but aside from that every other refernced character was nothing like their actual character from the game. Sure they must have thoughthat announcing the in game characters would be in hte movie sbut then seeing how they are handled i think pissed the fans off even more.
Well atleast Leon and Chris was never in any of these movies so the coolest characters stayed untouched and unsoiled. Sorry for the rant but these movies just piss me off, can't wait to see more of this CG stuff though :D

i think they should have done it like this in the first fucking place and blacklisted Paul Anderson from ever touching another video game script. Im pretty hyped for it now. I dont know who to blame more Capcom or Paul Anderson for using a video game movie as a pickup line to score some Mila Jojovich ass.

Hopefully this takes away the stink of both Anderson's versions and the "new and improved" revised story from Umbrella Chronicles, or as I call it - Umbrella Retcon-icles. I was willing to let some of RE4's non-RE-style action-based storyline slide, because it still looked visually scary and delivered in terms of atmosphere like the series fucking SHOULD, unlike some movies I know. But in UC's case, whoever thought "Sir Gay" Vladamir (they're two FIRST names, ya dumb cunts!), the exclusion of Barry Burton, and ANYTHING called Red Queen would NOT make me laugh in utter disdain, they have another thing coming. I still don't know why or how the fuck Sir Gay suddenly mutates at the end and retains enough intelligence to spit snarky Russian one-liners. Can anybody explain that? I was willing to go with it at the end of RE4 because the Plaga was such an unknown variable, you could afford to go nuts with it, but Sir Gay mutating because of the T-Virus like that? Capcom, you lazy fucking cunts, think up a clever way to stage a boss battle WITHOUT sacrificing story credibility, would you? Jesus... *sigh* Thank goodness for Wesker's excellent scenarios, which take Anderson's attempt at delving into "character" and punt them over the fence like a fucking cat... so to speak. Wesker... you da man. Now we just need you slitting Alice's throat and that'll be THAT...
Anyway. This new flick gives me hope. I'll be keeping tabs on it.

Call me excited , i'm blown away by what i saw in that trailer . I always wanted a full length feature in the style of the cgi cutscenes from the games , i never thought we would actually see something like it .
I'm loving this no doubt , and Capcom can make it the way they want , this will be the true RE universe that the fans have been waiting for . I doubt there will be a cinema release , but it would be great if there was , even a limited release or something .
FF : Advent Children is off the wall bonkers , it looked great and the story was just as good , i have total confidence that the creators of that film will do RE justice .
And yes , this will , most likely , wash out the bad taste people received from the live action films , although i still highly enjoy those , this will be the proper one .

The only RE i ever played was the first few ours of the game cube version of part 4 ( i think part 4 was teh one without umbrella ???). it was nice but i didn't really get into it.
i liked the first movie (and only the first one) for its style and story but this new version looks incredible, you don't even recognise that its CG until you see teh humans.

I loved the scares and fun in Res 1&2, I loved the action of Res 4, I hate all the films.
I would hate to see an entire Resident Evil cut seen-like movie. Seriously.
It would be neither fun or scary, I would constantly expect to grab a controller and play at any given second.

I thought you were talking about the films at first. I was like "What fun? What Scares?"
I miss coming home with my ps1 that fateful night when I finally got my hands on my first Sony controller, and Resident Evil 1... Needless to say I skipped school the next day in favor of zombie hunting bad assery.
This thread needs more smiles.

So Chronicles is a pass?
Nah, it's fine by me, I like the storyline and development a LOT more than I thought I would. The Fall of Umbrella and Wesker's final victory over them was REALLY well written, I think, not that cartoonish "All the heroes band together and take 'em down, yeaaaaah!" drivel that a lot of people seemed to want for some reason. They went a more realistic and grimmer route with Wesker being the unsung (dark) savior, yet it's almost the same conundrum faced on Lost at the close of its third season - yeah, hooray, the Others are defeated, but what you've just opened the door for could be even WORSE. In my opinion, nothing in the existing movies has ever gone a more mature, smarter route, so in a lot of ways, UC revives my faith in RE's story being superior in the game world. Even the Red Queen is used more realistically than its original creator did in the movie, which, I dunno, seems kinda pathetic for a filmmaker to be shown up like that, right? I understand the reason to nod to the films, they made the RE base a lot of money, I'm cool with that bit of whoring, or at least I try to understand and see it as smart business. I just wish they'd have refrained from trying to connect the two universes in ANY way, but that's not really a knock on UC, I guess. Just a personal peeve... The laser chamber, though, I HATED that in UC. Have your Red Queen, but when you bring that polished sci-fi slo-mo actiony bullshit into the GAME'S world? Deze shorties be hangin' on my LAST nerve, yo.
As for Sergei, his inclusion as another crazy ass Russian who was "there the whole time" rubs me the wrong way, simply because he seems like another superfluous addition in an attempt to fill in plot holes by writers who at this point, obviously didn't know exactly where they were going. They could've brought in Nicholai as the man who was once just a grunt in RE3 who did all the dirty work that Sergei was doing in the Zero/REmake scenarios, and then by the Fall of Umbrella, he'd have been promoted to one of the head honchos. It's an arc for a villain that makes sense and deepens the story on both sides, heroes and villains. Keeps the clutter of characters to a minimum and adds more depth to existing characters that haven't had any true bookends yet. Then again, most say Nicholai is dead, so unless Capcom confirms either way, it's gonna bug me. But that's another topic in another forum, my friend :p
But all that convoluted ranting aside, my main beef with UC is its genre. I don't see RE as a "shoot zombies mindlessly" arcade experience. Never did and never will, and I stand by that criticism of the movies even if UC tries very hard to railroad my argument.

Hell yeah, I'm down for this. My favorite video game franchise will finally get a movie cut from the genius of the games. Bring it the fuck on.
