Hancock stars Will Smith as a washed up, alcoholic superhero with no idea how to use his powers ethically. Directed by Peter Berg, whose credits also include Very Bad Things, The Rundown, Friday Night Lights, and The Kingdom. The film also stars Charlize Theron and Jason Bateman as the title character's publicist. The film is shot to be released July 2, 2008.

Other than the Ludacris song in the trailer sounding ludicrous, I'm expecting this movie to be pretty fucking entertaining. The description of Hancock alone is enough to crack me up... He reminds me of Barry Badrinath from Beerfest.

I didn't really have any expectations (or rather, I had low expectations) for this but it actually looks pretty entertaining...looks like Smith has another hit on his hands...
ETA: WHOA. This is directed by the Berg-man himself? Holy fucking shit my interest level just skyrocketed. He's never done a bad movie yet imo (Very Bad Things - one of the most underrated (dark) comedies ever) and I fucking love Friday Night Lights (the series)

This movie will make at least $100 million on opening weekend. Will Smith is that powerful.

Hancock..tonight he comes.
Wow they won`t even need to try and come up with a porn title for this one.Looks like will smith crashes into alot of stuff, but you`d be a dumb fool to say this won`t make KA-ching at the box office.

Jason Bateman is comedy gold, but that guy really hasnt found himself in good movies. He was the only laugh-causing effect in The Ex and Mr. Magorium. the trailer looks alright, but it will definitely be a beast in the box office with Will Smith at the helm.

kingdom was decent, i remember it being quite mixed review though. ill give you Juno though, its like i said, he hadnt found himself in good movies, but maybe now he is. im simply saying if you look through all of his movies, most of them weren't exactly good successes, at least in the critics opinion and mostly my own (although smokin aces is a guilty pleasure)

This movie looks awesome, or at least it's an awesome idea that could potentially end up being awesome if pulled off correctly. Hopefully it will be. Seems like it might.
And that poster is badass.

Eh, I have an idea for a poster. They should have Hancock passed out on a bench with a empty bottle of Jagermeister or something while there's a robbery or a crime scene going on in the background.

That would have been much better.
