I can't wait for this, but I won't get my hopes up too much because as I recall didn't Jackie Chan tell his fans not to get their hopes up because it wasn't very good or something like that.

Huh? I thought Jet Li was done with martial arts epics.... I'm just assuming this would be a martial arts epic by the poster and by the cast....

Jackie said not to get your hopes up to his Chinese fans because this is an American adaption for American audiences; and for that same very reason it is a loop whole in Jet Li's Martial Arts epic statment.

Jet Li has also mentioned to fans to not get their hopes up too high regarding his fight scenes with Jackie. Being that, (both he and Jackie claims) since they aren't at their physcial peak as they were when they were younger, they've both gotten old. They both don't want fans to have such high expectations if they go in expecting a grand fight scene in the making between them both. Which, i think is true. People who expect a great fight between Jackie and Jet will be really upset. From what I can see in the trailer so far, the fight scenes look really old school wire-fu. It is a family oriented film from Disney, so that is to be expected.
And, why does everyone keep misinterpreting Jet's 'retirement' from martial arts epics?? Let's get this clear once and for all because people seem not to understand the full intention behind his claims.
Jet Li is NOT going to continue making epic martial arts movies where he will use martial arts as a philosophical metemaphor against violence. Hence, his choices with Hero and Fearless. He said too many people watch martial arts movies and walk away with the wrong impression that it's all fists of fury, flying feet, full on violence against your fellow brethren. He made those previous films with the intentions that people will see martial arts as not violence but as something more deeper in spirit.
After completing Fearless, he said it was his last attempt at knocking the audience over the head with his philosophy against violence with martial arts. He made it clear that it didn't mean he won't do action movies. He will continue to just make 'pure, popcorn' action movies that people want rather then preaching morals in his movies. As everyone knows, Li's english is still lacking and what he wants to say gets lost in a language he's still not familiar with. So, let the record be cleared (from these forums at least, hopefully). Li is still going to make martial arts 'action' movies for entertainment!
