"Tom Cruise" begins, "If truth be told, Tom Cruise Mapother IV has always been something of a ladies' man" (should any biographer open with "if truth be told"?) and ends with this thunderclap: "Perhaps the most complex character he has ever played is Tom Cruise himself." Between those sentences resides a 323-page air sandwich.

It's an unofficial biography written by a tabloid news journalist.

You can pretty much guarantee he is getting sued by Tom Cruise right now too. Since Tom said in a Larry King interview that he sues ever single tabloid newspaper who writes a lie a about him.

Yet, he's never been unsuccessful with a law suit, and I may be wrong about this part, but I believe he holds the celebrity record for filing the most defamation suits.

The guy should of never became a celebrity if he didn't want people talking about him.

There is a difference between gossip and libel.
